Default Want to power trade with 500k?

Hai.
So I have 500k, which I have saved for a while now, I'd like to get FoW for my monk, so need to make that 500k grow into 1000k, what items should I be looking for now?
I'm thinking of starting with Armbraces, buy low sell abit higher?
Is that probably the easiest way to start?
Thanks.
Spinny.

Yeah, that's the basic idea. Just make sure you have a good idea of what prices are when you try to power trade, otherwise you'll end up buying and not being able to sell.

Minipets are also a good way to go since prices for those are always so... in flux. But again, they can be tricky to sell.

Power trading was a LOT easier back when more items in the game had an actually high value (ie, buying and selling non-inscribable weapons back during prophecies), but it is still doable with enough pratice and patience. Just learn what other people are trying to buy and sell items at and look for deals.

Not sure why you think you need 1000k for FoW armor. Even if you bought everything, it would only be:

105 Ecto x 5.5k (high price at Rare Material Storage) = 577,500 gold
105 Shards x 3.4k = 357k
350 Cloth = 5k at most
35 Tanned Hides = 500g at most
15k x 4 pieces = 60k

577.5k+357k+5k+0.5k+60k=1000k

Now, that is the HIGHEST prices I would expect someone to pay. You can easily buy Ecto for 4.7k-5k, Shards for 2.7k-3k, and Cloth and Hides for less as well.

As easy as CLoth and Tanned Hides are to get, I doubt you would need or want to buy them though. Ecto and Shards are easy enough for a Monk to farm, so while working on gaining that money, you can be farming UW and FoW. That would make you money and decrease the amount of money you need.

Most people who buy/sell Armbraces know their value. Power trading is done by buying for less than an items worth and selling for the value, or higher than its worth. Since most people who can obtain an Armbrace know its value, it won't be easy to find someone selling for less. Most people who are buying them have done some research to know their value, meaning it will be hard to find a buyer paying more than they are worth.

To start something like Power Trading, you need to know the market VERY well. Even if you have the money to start with the high cost items, you will be needing Ecto for those trades exceeding 100k. Any Ecto you get you will probably want to be saving for the armor though.

Might consider something smaller to learn how it works. Things buy frequently may not get you much for each sale, but since they are bought frequently, you make money regularly. Weapon mods, runes, and inscriptions could work as lots of people want to buy them and not many know what the values are. Mini pets can also work, as many people are unaware of the value of them. If you want items that exceed 100k per sale, I'd suggest starting with rare skin weapons, as many people who want them don't understand how the prices can change, and may pay more than they should without checking.

buy z keys for 4.7k/ea and sell 100 for 5.5k/ea or trade 5 for 6 ectos, then resell those for 5k/ea and buy more z keys.

Power trade materials. Stacks of feathers, iron, dust and granite sell great. U can also buy ectos at TOA and sell them in kammadan. Buy at 4.5k sell at 5k. Easiest to start with and materials trade quick.

I second the info from Magma and Hawk.

Here's an easy way to get started. Pick one type of item other than armor that you would actually like to buy and keep (and that you can afford with your current resources). For example, a specific bow skin like a Storm Bow. You probably know the market value for the item already, and if not you should find out -- locate people buying and selling them and ask for prices or offers.

Once you have an average, keep looking for items for sale; when you find a seller who is asking significantly below market price (say... 25% or more), buy the item and resell it.

You can often buy something for less or sell something for more simply by asking. You don't even need to make up a story or excuse. "Can I buy this for X instead of Y?" "Can you pay A instead of B?"

I find that being polite and providing as much info as possible about the items you are buying or selling works better in the long run than being rude, pushy or argumentative. If you don't like someone's price or vice versa, it's not the end of the world. When the other party refuses to budge on their offer and you refuse to budge on your price, it's time to give up on that buyer and continue spamming.

If you have difficulty selling the item or can't sell it at all, than you'll end up "stuck" with a nice item that you wanted for yourself anyway.

Time = money. You may be able to sell an item above market price, but it will probably cost you a lot more time to do so. It's difficult to sell something above market price. Sell for less and sell now, or sell at a higher price and spend a few weeks spamming.

Buy and sell Uninsc 15^50 r8's.. They always retain some value. Do research though. Go and look at what things are actually selling for, make your own guesses as to what they could sell for, then have at'er. Keep in mind Power Trading isn't a for sure thing.. That 500K could just as easily turn into 350K as it could 650K.

Well it was a lot more efficient to power trade long time ago than now.
A few months ago when I had 100k, I got it easily up to 100k+120e in around..... 1.5 week MAX? and I was playing only 2-3 hours a day. I did some trades here and there, when i got to 100k+70e I was buying tormented shields for that price and I was selling them for 10e more after 10 mins. But I'm talking about a few months ago when Ascalon ID1 was the place for trading.

But I think you can still power trade tormented shields / armbraces, but it's not as efficient as it was 4-5 months ago.

Well I think that the market has really collapsed in these later days.

Example: a Mini Gwen used to be a high end item. I would buy them at or around 100K and then sell them for 100K +10-20 ectos. I could pull in 40K a trade in a matter of minutes.

Now A mini Gwen is around 90K current offers to BUY!!! Selling them at 100K +10e is darn near impossible. So I dumped my Mini Gwen's as took the loss of a few ectos per Mini I had.

Now if I was to have dedicated all but one or two maybe that would have kept the price up.

Weapons prices have fallen too since the advent of more farmers. There are people out there with chests full of stuff they can not sell.

So my advice is. Find ONE or TWO HIGH prices items 90-100K and sell them for 100K +5 or so ectos. If you get a hot item like a much sought after MINI or Tonic then you can flip that item FAST. Remember everything goes DOWN in price over time. NOTHING in this game has stayed at its peak. Even the Voltaic Spears are going down as those that want them have them,

One idea that just popped in my head. If you are a gambler... Get some Z-Keys and then wait for the beginning of the month. Find out what the new tonic is and if it is a sweet one then use your keys like a mad man. Then sell the Newest Kewlest tonic for 100K +150 ectos. I am not sure what the drop rate is on the tonics but it is a very quick way to 150 ectos if your lucky.

For me, I went back to presearing. Dye prices are still high even for a yellow cause there is no dye trader.

Make your gold, then sell your pre gold for 2X Post gold. So a Black dye at current prices of 7K is = to 14K in post..right now.

IF you know what your doing, powertrading is still very easy. You just have to really know the prices of the item or groups of items you are going to trade. I made about 250(profit not revenue) ectos in one day via trading recently, of course I am dealing with high end items. If you are new to it, I would buy stuff that isnt worth much so that if you screw up it won't hurt you much. You will make mistakes as you learn, you just dont want them to cost you alot so start with stuff like cheap minis.

Example: a roaring ether can be sold for 20-30k relatively easily. I have bought them for well under 10k many times. I am referring to undedicated of course. So that is 10k profit minimum. Main thing is dont take large unknown risks (if you arent sure about price DONT buy it), and you need ALOT of patience as sometimes things take a while to sell.

I dont agree with everything in the post above me, there are certain items that retain value and actually go up. Most of them are worth quite a bit now though is the problem. Most low end stuff is cheap because it is high in supply. Key thing to remember is supply, if the supply of the item is increasing it will drop in price. One example of an item that will drop in price is birthday minis. Silverwings are a good example of an item that has skyrocketed recently due to supply and demand. they used to be much less than they are now. They are risen mainly due to the popularity and difficulty of farming the chest they come from. If many people are constantly buying and selling a particular item, it will cause the item to tank in value ( a good example of this is the eternal blade).

Sell tonic, does he mean regular tonics? B/c I'm pretty sure thats everlasting price. And everlasting is damn near impossible to get.

i would say stick to ambraces, as thier prices are almost garunteed to stay constant at 100k +20-35e, allowing you to power trade with 15e profit.

when u are buying them buy the gems and craft the ambrace ureself, this will save money even more, or even better make a deal with someone to buy all the gems they get for a slightly cheaper price, but as you will be constantly buying them, they should be okay with it, stand in spamadan AM1 and just sell each ambrace for 100k +35e...couldnt be easier. but wait till u get ~1500k from this before getting foW armour for ure monk, this then allows you to carry on doing this method, to get cash for another set, or some decent items. but whatever you do dont be tempted to craft torm weapons, as ambraces are worth more on thier own, other power traders might buy some to get a stack up or something.
