Default Why is Eye of the North discontinued in retail stores?

I took a long break from Guild Wars because I started PvPing late, and was stuck in the whole low-high rank bias crap, that still appears to go on even now.

But anyways, so I decided to buy a copy of Eye of the North at my local EB Games store today, and I find out that it has been discontinued. I know it's been almost 2 years since it's release, but there still many old school games that are still out. (Starcraft and Warcraft Battle Chest was still on the shelves for god's sake.)

I know it's still avialable through the NCSoft store on-line. But I'm the kind of person that likes a physical copy of the game, it makes me feel secure.

Does anyone know why they discontinued producing the retail copy of Eye of the North?

(I live in Canada if that matters)

Not sure, but I saw prophecies and NF on clearance at target last week.

Gamestop keeps a fairly minimal PC stock, they don't hold onto most PC games for long, and aren't the first place you should be going anyway.

Not everyone is going to carry every game for the entire product life. Shelf space is limited.

At those who said Target: We don't have Target here in Canada.

Newegg, only has Prophecies (GotY ED) and Nightfall

Amazon has it... but I don't have a credit card.

I'm surprised Future Shop has it, both Best Buy and FS's sites no longer have it listed. I went to Best Buy and they had one old wrecked returned copy. Where do you live Razorbeak?

Steam... the point is I want a retail copy, otherwise I would've just bought it from the NCsoft store.

But it's their most recent installment, I don't see why they still have Nightfall selling then. Also, shelf space, they have plenty, they fill up 3 stacks with WoW. -_-;;.

I remember seeing a copy of Factions, Game of the Year Addition at Circuit City when it was going out of business. Ridiculous markdown. Should have bought it...

its hard to find em i have $60 to target and i know factions is liek $10 in stores and i checked with 3 of them and none of em have it so i got stuck buying it in their online store for $40. Which is more than the NCsoft game store. But i wanted to waste my giftcard.

You can get a debit card in a few minutes, and they work with amazon. Stick the money in the account, buy the game, forget about the card until the next time you need it Only works with cash you actually put in the account, so there are no nasty surprises, as long as you don't give out the card info.

You have to be at least 18 to get one on your own name, though. Maybe older in some countries, I don't know.

Starcraft sales has been increased since the news about SC2, and Warcraft Battlechest is still on sale because 9000 Million people are still giving Blizzard money for WoW each month.

So I suppose no one was buying EotN anymore?
