Hi

Gues you all know where this is going.
I want a transparant avatar.
The one I'm using now has a white back ground instead of the back of the forum
I am using IE8 *hides* which someonetimes tend to display avatars with white back if in png.
I tried to save as .png and .gif and png-24 for web. All displays white back for me. Anyone knows how to fix this? Or should I just make a revolution and let everyone download firefox lol.

Any help apriciated.

Here you go:

Be sure to save it to your computer as a .png

and yes you should upgrade to Firefox (although not required for the avatar)

EDIT: there was a slight flaw in the first one, fixed now

Heh noticed that glitchie thing too, thought it was part of the solution Still wondering how you got that to work? Might be interesting to post it here and not by PM, so others might see the light too

I used the background eraser tool in photoshop (There might be better ways, I don't know - I'm self taught).

Don't know if you use it but heres a mini tutorial:

1. Pasted the image onto a new layer
2. Selected and deleted the bits I wanted transparent
3. Selected the Baground Eraser tool (under the normal erasers)
4. Used the tool to remove background layer

Theres a way to make things transparent in paint as well if you don't have PS or the like. Be damded if I can remember it now though, I'm sure google knows.

EDIT: Oh be sure to save it in a format that shows transparency, personally I use .PNG - But you can use .Gif or .Tiff
