Platinum Staves? - Guild Wars Forums

What's up with platinum staves? I thought this skin could be found in factions for a variety of attributes, but on guru all I see are people selling it for core skills like divine favor, soul reaping, energy storage ect..?

probably b/c most of them sold here are inscribable

Uninscribable versions of Platinum Staves come in various attributes.
Inscribable versions can only be linked to the Primary attribute of its respective caster profession (except for Mesmer where they are tied to Inspiration Magic). - taken from wiki

yeah, for example i have a q12 domination one. but has HCT healing 20%, so just use it on my monk.

most platinums come from the Zchest and are inscribed. The really expensive ones are perfect drops from factions and will not be inscribed. If you are looking just for the skin there are a couple greenies out there that share it.

Factions is still the only place where you can get plat. wands and staves that require something besides En. Storage, Div. Favor, Soul Reaping, Inspiration Mag., or Spawning Power.

Those that drop in factions are the non-inscribable, "oldschool" variety .. meaning the odds of getting one max with an inherent mod like 10% hct all spells is low ... and the odds of getting one max with an inherent mod of 20% HCT a spell type that matches the staff's requirement attribute is far lower.

Due to the rarity, If you want to find those non-primary attribute plat staves on guru - then you probably need to be looking in hiend or posting buy threads to lure some out.

Look on the bright side - at least the skin comes in some form of inscribable. If you want some of the other snazzy staff skins from Factions (Bo, Dragon, Celestial, Forbidden, Cockatrice, Outcast, just to name the ones off the top of my head) you don't even get that option.

ohhh ok thanks for clearing that up. so that means the staves i'm looking for are higher end. now i know where to look.
