Default Collectables ... what for.

Hi guys. I just started playing the game. Cant believe I missed this one for years ... well I had a few tries in online games but did not like them. GW is great so far.

I just reached Lions Arch and on the way there through the missions I found all kind of stuff that filled up almost all my storage. Charr Carvings, Charr Hides, Summit Badges ... and all kind of stuff worth 5-10 gold.

What to do with that?
Just sell?
Anything worth trading with other players?

also I read this forum a bit. What does r5, r6 etc mean pls?

Thx.

1. collectibles can be traded for items from collector NPCs. Check the wiki for which collectors take which items. There is everything from weapons and armor to special items during events (check the weekend event link on the main page). Those good for special events (the carvings and badges) sell to other players for inflated prices. Ask around in LA or Ascalon City for price checks.

2. The "r" stands for rank in various title tracks or the attribute requirement for a weapon.

Every week
Nicholas the Traveler collects different collectables. Also, collectables can be given to collectors. Like you give the collector 5 fins and he gives you a weapon of your choice.

Charr carvings are used annually to trade for holiday items in LA and Ascalon. Might want to check that out first.

You can merch them. No need to clutter up your storage at this point. If you are really interested, look up what items are used by the holiday collectors.

Best idea is to check things on the wiki to see what (if any) collector wants them and what (if any) things you may want.
Most of it can just be sold to the merchant - most of it is intended as just a source of gold.
(Someone can supply links to the wikis - there is a button for one on the main page of guildwars.com)

What "r" means depends upon who's talking - in PvP it is your "rank" - in PvE it (and/or "q") stands for "requirement". There is a sticky in these forums which has a list of common GW abbreviations.
