Character name in use by another player? - Guild Wars Forums

I deleted a character from one of my guild wars accounts, and when I tried creating a character with the same name on a different account, it said the name is still in use. Why is this?

gotta wait 24hrs, as a name protection.

Yeah as said above it's still reserved for 24hours on the account you deleted it from.
It stops name name hijacking by other players i guess.
Just remeber to do it as soon as you can on the other account after the 24hours or you may lose it for good to someone else.

As stated you have to wait 24 hours between accounts, although you can use the name straight away again on the same account.
