Instead of jumping straight into pvp, start a pve character and get use to the machanica of the game. The tutorial and beginning quest basicly show you around and help you get started. Also by doing pve you can unlock stuff that you can use and a pvp chat

there is no vioce chat options for guildwars but there is a few programs that alot of guilds use that can serve as a voice chat.

my advice is to start with a role playing character and get used to the skills, professions and format. if you dont have all the games, you'll be severly gimped in pvp as you wont have all the skills and professions.

join a guild.

ventrilo is an awesome way to do mic chatting. most established guilds have a vent server.

Super helpful link for everything:wiki.guildwars.com

Play PvE, and play thoroughly through Prophecies first as it's the slowest and steadiest game as far as development for your character goes. Factions and Nightfall rush your character to fully develop by the time you leave the tutorial islands and EoTN is an expansion you can have as long as you have at least any one working GW game on your account, 2 or all 3..blah blah blah it's also higher end content for the level 20 players/more experienced and such but level 10+ can play there and have fun. Join a great guild who enjoyes helping new players and your interest in GW can last for several fun years. Most of us have been playing 4-5 years and still aren't stopping anytime soon.

Ventrillo is for voice chat, there is also Skype....their accounts and the program are 100% free, skype to skype calls and skype conference calls rooms are also 100% free and the sound is amazingly superior to Ventrillo.

We just explained about spec and respec in this thread.
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10411331

Which element you use depends on the campaign in which you started the character. Please read the basics thread in our Campfire section Elementalist subforum. Section 9 gives single campaign starter builds.
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10314574

Weapon sets vary according to the needs of the moment. There is no perfect weapon set for any profession. There are also no "Uber" weapons. All max weapons of the same type are equal damage, excluding mods. After you obtain max armor/weapons, Guild Wars is all about vanity skins.
