Default Can i restore a salvaged armor?

I accidentally salvaged my one of a kind leg armor with a unique dye before the update they did for dye combinations. I was trying to salvage runes out of my hero armor but realized it was my own character. Do you think they can restore it? If possible i took a screenshot as evidence of the horrible mistake i did if they can do anything.

Unfortunately my money would be to say it's a lost cause.

ANet doesn't even have the will/resources to restore characters lost as a result of NCSoft/ANet's own glaring security holes.

Doing a restore on something lost due to user error will be very unlikely.

Oh well it was my fault and i'll understand if Anet can't do anything about this. I just want to know if this happened to any other players before and if they got any contacts from support.

Oh, it hapened to thousands who salvaged/sold important items due to carelessness (me included ). Anet has no mechanism that would allow you to restore the situation, so you're better off asking "How do I farm the materials and money for a new one ASAP?"

Ah i already have more than enough for another but its the dye that i won't be able to replicate this time. Something i will never be able to attain since the dye combination is no longer achievable.

Well thanks anyways guys for the replies. I guess ill just move on and be more cautious next time.

It probably happened to thousands of other players... And sadly, they can't do anything for you even if they did want to. They can't 'pop' things up in the server. They can change drop rates, change monsters, do pretty much anything BUT 'pop' stuff up into the server... Sorry mate, it's lost. :\

if you've been playing since '06 you should know that a-net doesn't restore items.

Your only chance is to buy oldschool mixed dyes from someone who have had them stored from old days. There are a few, but I guess your chances are slim

I am pretty sure they can "pop" things "up". They don't want to for several reasons.

No, they can't, unless they've been lying to us. They've said many times that they intentionally programmed things in advance so that it's impossible for any of their staff to un-delete items. I think it was a really stupid policy to implement WITHOUT an accompanying mechanism to enable us to mark certain characters as undeletable or items as unsalvagable / untradable. Let's just hope they remedy this in GW2. At least it's something they have control over, unlike many of the ridiculous security loopholes that belong to their parent company.

Nope sir. This won't work even if he finds an old mixed dye with the exact combination of colors.

It's not common knowledge but the old mixed dyes were nerfed together with the whole dye mixing system, for example if you apply a Vial of Dye [Mixed] that's Blue+Silver on an armor it will look exactly the same as if you just used a Blue + a Silver dye manually. It won't reproduce the color that dye would produce if used before NF update. And in case a Dye Remover was used in the [Mixed] dye, it's just ignored by current mixing system, so for example a Red+Remover Mixed dye will look exactly the same as if you just used a single Red.
