Now the game begins..

Go finish your campaign by following the quest line. Move to other continents (if you bought multiple chapters). Start working on titles: vanquishing, getting protector/guardian title, start doing elite area's, get shiny armor, get more skills, make your own builds, so on so on...

In GW, reaching level 20 is not a goal in itself, it's simply means you've finished your "training". Now the real game begins.

Play the actual game . Unlike in many other MMOs where leveling is the brunt of the game, GW is basically unlocked for you at level 20. By now you should have all 200 of your attribute points and be at your character's strongest, which means you can now pursue finishing the game and moving on to other campaigns or to elite areas.

Where do you get the high level armor from? I'm a nightfall character and just unlocked sunspear sanctuary on the big landmass.

Also what are elite areas?

Thanks

If you are at the sunspear sanctuary you have barely begun the game . You can enjoy playing through the storylines of nightfall, prophecies, factions and eye of the north. You won't be 'finished' with gw for a long while. After you complete all the games, you will probably know what you can do after .

Basically what everyone else said.

Take your time and work your way through all the campaigns. Once you've done that set some goals for yourself.
Saw an armor set you liked? Aim for purchasing it. A Weapon you liked on a fellow Guildie? Aim for buying one like it. Saw a cool looking title that's respected? Go for that.

Really, just enjoy yourself.

You can get Elite Sunspear Armor at your Command Post from Ahamid after you finish the quest Building The Base: Prisoners of War. The other places in Nightfall to obtain elite armors are listed here http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Prestige_armor#Nightfall

and trust me getitng elite armors and such arent as easy as you'd think. Also saving up would be a great idea. the "spend now save later idea" seems to make u feel incredibly poor very fast xD. So lets say u want an eL tonic and its 20e. Farm 40e so you have money to fall bk on once uve spent half ^_^. this may seem like common snese but ud be surprised.

You can get max armor from Consulate Docks for 1K + materials for each piece. Apply insignias and runes if you have enough left over. Elite armors have the same armor rating as regular max armor. They only look different.

Your next primary quest is probably "and a hero shall lead them" - you need to grind sunspear points until you reach high enough rank to continue the story. Check with NPCs in the Command Post for more quests, and be sure to grab the bounties at res shrines when you run around outside.

I advise you get your max armor with mods you like then play through the game with friends or guildies preferably. Once you're done with a campaign, you can go for hard mode missions and vanquishing. Finishing nightfall will also unlock the domain of anguish (DoA), the elite zone where you can get tormented weapons. If you have eye of the north, dungeons are a blast to do with friends/guildies same with vanquishing.

There's also the zaishen quests http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Zaishen_Challenge_Quest available at the temple of balthazar which change each day. You should definitely check those since some of them will be related to the nightfall storyline and bosses you might encounter in nightfall. Even though you won't be able to complete the hard mode objectives, these quests are still 500g-1K a piece and give a decent amount of xp if you want to level your heroes fast. Some will also give you reputation points. You will also stock up on zaishen coins which you can trade for various items.

Filling out your hall of monuments (eye of the north) can be a lot of fun too. There are also some elite skill you will absolutely want to capture.

You can visit the official wiki for more information: http://wiki.guildwars.com just be careful while browsing the wiki since it contains lots of spoilers.

There's also the PvX wiki for builds (i always forget the url) but there's a way to access it via the official wiki. I still suggest you experiment with builds as much as possible since the things you will learn from that are invaluable. Reading about something and experiencing it first-hand can be completely different experiences depending on the situation.

I'm on the Poghan Passage mission now. Few more questions I thought of while questing @ 20:

1.) Threat seems to be awkward in this game. I die and get rezed by a monk and then 4 seconds later I die again by a mob I didnt attack? I swear that in about 80% of the missions I've done I've sat with a 30% death debuff.

2.) What is Vanquishing and The Underworld(which I've heard alot spoken in guild about)

I dont have the EotN expansion yet, looking for a place to get it that will just give me the key and not have to ship the game out.

GW doesn't have a threat system like other MMOs
What does happen is that monsters tend to aim for the people with the lowest armor and/or the lowest max health

Ways to reduce the size of that great big target on your back:
Get max armor - Others have provided links for where to get that
Rune up your armor - Get a Vigor rune (largest you can afford) Radiant insignia, avoid major or super attribite runes (the extra attribute points are not really worth the health hit)

Vanquishing: Killing all the monster in a zone whilst in Hard Mode. You unlock hard mode for a campaign once you finish the storyline for that campaign, which when active buffs all the foes in an area.
The Underworld: An elite area accessible from 3 different outposts, one in each campaign (exc EotN).

I'm guessing you're a wow player - GW has no (phony) threat mechanic that's why you don't see tanks in the game, mobs will attack what appears to be the weakest member and if you are the only one with DP you will be at risk.

Go to the link in the previous post (the wiki) and search for terms you have questions about it's probably faster than asking here.

2) Vanquishing is defeating every enemy in an explorable area in Hard Mode. Underworld, is an elite zone accessible from all three campaigns. In nightfall you can access it from the chantry of secrets http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Underworld. It one of the only places where you can get glob of ectoplasm among other things, the other being the tomb of the primeval kings which is only accessible in prophecies.

You could always buy it from the online store, that way you would get the key without the need to have anything shipped. Some stores may still have a few copies in stock as well.
