Default My Imp, He's gone Insane

Ok, my summoned Imp I got from the buying the trilogy flings fireballs at whomever he sees fit. How do I put him in defensive mode? I dont want him aggroing mobs and getting me killed.

He's not meant to be 'intelligent'. It's not a henchie or hero.

It's more like a necro minion. Cannon fodder with pretty good damage and survivability.

yea that thing is meant for low lvl areas where it can just destroy any mob it comes in contact with. also, any area where you use the imp(since your under lvl 20) should be killable with your h/h. so im jsut saying your doing something wrong if your in an under lvl 20 area and your dying from over-aggro.

Not always true. There are some times when you are very low level that to much agro can take you by surprise. But in general its not a huge deal (thinking of that lvl 12 monk boss on istan that I always run into while im like lvl 4 xD ). But yeah the imp is mindless it will attack whatever it sees and won't follow pinged targets (I could be wrong but im like 80% sure). Soooo yeah it's kinda like doing stuff with a mindless zombie like tobi :P

i disagree... im not mindless.. i always have a statedgy that is called attack anything and everything that moves w/ sub-standard abilities and effects. But yea im just saying ive personally never had to even use the imp stone(outside of pre and thats b/c im lazy) when im lvling up my new characters. I simply suggest they go H/H... and i gotta re-say.. if your over aggroing.. your doing something wrong. Again ive never had problems with overaggro in noob areas(only problems i get in that area are HM and only sometimes). So i think he should just go and and drop the imp maybe go merc a lvl 20person to go help him kill stuff.

I use the imp when im running around questing precisely because he does that. Gives me a nice amount of xp for doing nothing but running around!

Imp's Gone Wild : Spring Break Extreme!

"The Imp's AI is similar to that of Minions; it attacks whatever is in its aggro circle, does not respond to called targets, and will not disengage even if the character runs away or dies and resurrects at a shrine far away. " i.e. Dumber than mud.

Only thing worse than that imp and hechies are those two warriors from infamous shining blade trio that randomly spawn in WiK areas. If you are melee char they will follow you and serve well as hitting meat and material for minions. If you are caster/ranger they won't lift a finger or they will run to target , hit it once and run back to you.
