The announcement is incorrect. The same thing happened last year.

Well let's be fair - they only had one year to fix this known issue which happened last year too and would have involved the difficult task of changing a whole word in one event description.

ANet does, after all, live in an alternate time reality in which "very soon" means "someday down the road when we happen to get around to it, maybe.

So let's not be too hard on them.

^ this. They keep forgetting to change the text, and since it's automated (and they're lazy), I'm sure they'd rather just keep copy+pasting the text rather than actually fixing it.

Almost the same thing... it ended 2 days early last year. So the funny thing is, someone likely intervened (otherwise I would expect it to have been 3 days again, if fully automated) and screwed up again.

This reminds me of that moment in the first Futurama episode when Fry goes to Lela: "Aye Aye captain, I mean only one eye, I mean yes sir, ummm, ma'am."

Third time will be the charm next year?

Lets face it folks - a genius can make a game like gw but most can seem to be ale to tell time correctly.Anet states on events etc atm - start 12pm pst ( -7 gmt ) which is wrong as always as 12pm pst is 8pm gmt which is a difference of 8 hrs not 7 ( take note who ever in anet deals with times ).
Most events specially main events like xmas etc have huge amounts of non usa/pst players who sadly ask the constant question - has it started yet ?.Part of this is because anet cant get times right for gmt and players turn up an hr early and end up annoying others.
Maybe they need a website up that shows all the times in the world - just to help them get things right :P

Or, as always, they could be using Valve Time. It's a rather useful term when talking to devs.

Oh, what's that John Stumme? The GW:B will get an update "soon"? Awesome, I'll schedule it between tomorrow and the Second Coming.

you must remember to put the correct words into what they say....if they say, this month, that means, sometime in the next 6 months; every 2 months means once a year....you have to get your lexicon of anet terms down.

(and the event was going until midnight pst or is it pdt now??? since I was still getting drops at that time)

Hall of Monuments-When you create your GW 2 account, you will link a GW 1 account to it. You will get an item to double-click to take you to your GW 2 HoM. You will get points for things you did in GW 1. With number of points, you unlock rewards in GW 2. A full HoM guide will be going up VERY SOON on the GW 2 website, with pictures and details of rewards. It does not take a full hall to receive rewards.
Now<--------------Very Soon--------Soon--------------->End of Time
Makes sense now
