Selling Weapons Guide? - Guild Wars Forums

I've been browsing the forums but I haven't chanced upon something like it.

For instance... which skins do people pay a lot for? Which ones are automatically merch'd no matter the stats (unless Q8 etc)? When is it more profitable to invest in a perfect salvage kit to take out mods/inscriptions and sell separately? Etc.

I know these are learned by observing the market, but since I'm a casual player with not enough free time, I was wondering if someone had already compiled such a guide. If not, any tips? I'm going to be slowly clearing away my storage, and it seems weapons/shields will be the hardest to sell. It'll be tedious to search the forums for estimate prices (or if it's worth selling at all) for each and every item, and I wouldn't want to resort on print-screening to ask for PCs for every one of them...

Go to the auctions tab above, search for the items you want to sell, if you find them, you can make up a pretty good price.
If you don't find them, they are either extremely rare or in most cases just junk.
That should cut down your list.

There are some price guides stickied at the top of the Price Check forum, but always check to see when updates were made. A lack of updates is why all the other price guides just failed. Pricing changes and if the guide creator loses interest, the guide is useless.

The price guides on guru is often outdated, so i wouldent reccomend using it, though a person started an GREAT site a couple of months ago, it basicly stores the AED1 Kamadan Trade chat,so you just have to search for example "Eternal Blade" and you get the last 100 WTB/WTS/WTT messages in the trade chat.

But take the GwEstimator with a grain of salt. For one thing, it's incomplete, only covers Kamadan and only AD1. There's plenty of ads running in D2-4, sometimes even 5 or 6. In fact I seldom even bother trying to get into D1 anymore nowadays.

Secondly, try to find min/max on both WTS/WTB. The prices that the deals actually go down with are probably somewhere in the middle. Quick example off the top of my head: Heket Tongues (Nick's item of the week) going for 800-1k apparently, when in reality you can get them for as low as 500-600 if you haggle or have a little patience, or look around outposts that are nearby either Nick or the farming areas, including Camp Hojanu, Kodonur, Pogahn etc.
