It says rep for completed handbooks is unaffected. So, in theory,could i get a bunch of books with 15/16 pages filled, do atfh during the weekend, then get the double rep for the book?

No. Reputation rewards from completed handbooks do not double, regardless of when they are completed. The use of the word completed refers to completing the entries in the handbook by doing the quests, not fully completing all of the quests in a handbook.

In the past, the rewards from handbooks do actually double, but they are first cut in half for the duration of the bonus weekend, so the net effect is the standard reward.

I would actually disagree with MisterB, last rep weekend i did books from Friday through Sunday and i got double reward on them all. Out of 5 books in 3 days i got 60k rep off each of them to be honest with you. When you turn it in it says 30,000 but the title reflects a 60,000 increase.

They changed books during this event, when you hand in an book, it is actually doubled, but first Its /2. The krew has posted that it was the easiest thing to do.

If I'm reading that right, you're saying book rewards are halved, then doubled (net result - no change)?

Presumably making weekend faction doubling easier in some obscure way?

I think he means it was the easiest thing the coders could come up with to keep people from using massive book turn-ins during the bonus weekend. :P
