Halloween Quests - Guild Wars Forums

Alright so A little Confusion going on between me, Mad king Steward and the Quests.

So on the Wiki it state's Mad king Steward arrives on the Monday.

Wiki also states that

Quests given by Mad King's Steward
(Available in both Lion's Arch and Kamadan starting October 24)

But i noticed on the Guru front page it does say

Calendar of Events

October 20th - decorations go up and Costume Brawl starts!

October 25th - Halloween quests begin.

Is there an Error? Am i missing something? Maybe i just haven't given it enough time yet? So when does it start?

According to wiki the Steward's quests start on the 24th but the quests that were introduced last year and given by The Emissary of King Thorn of Kryta and The Countess of Hakewood start on the 25th so i'm assuming whoever put the thread together on the front page is probably saying ALL quests will be available by the 25th.

It may be a typo.
It's possible that the quest NPCs don't spawn until a specific time. My guess would be (if it was indeed a typo) that the quests will be available at noon PST, which is about half an hour from now.

anyone else experiencing crashes with the patch that launched most recently?
every time i download it the game crashes at 99%

A tweet from a few days ago indicates there was originally a typo/error on the Guild Wars site; Guru probably pulled from there before it was fixed.

ETA: Just patched and loaded just fine.
Yay, "Something Wicked This Way Comes" is available. Fingers crossed "Every Bit Helps" is still repeatable (no time to do the questline until later today.)

Nope nothing- I downloaded the recent Build release which was Quest support and Loaded fine. Might just be you.

The only thing thats got me - logged after new update and unable to get the uw quests on my necro which is damn weird , not tried yet on diff chrs .Even changed dists to check.

Do you still have "The Waiting Game" on that character from last year?
I had a similar problem last Halloween. A later update fixed it then.

the chr is new - only 2 months old if that .
The first thing that came to mind was what you said - last years quest but thats ruled out

Hm, that's strange. I logged onto my alt on a character that's a week old and was able to pick it up just fine.

Standard question: Have you tried restarting your client?

Everyone was there just before I logged off for the night will be doing the quests asap.

Just thinking about how unfriendly this festival is to new players, I'm ok have access to all the missions on most characters but there seems a lack of missions in start areas..

If you haven't got as far as Vabi in nightfall your pretty much stuck.
In prophesies you need to have got to the temple of ages which isn't too bad and the underworld while totally appropriate for Halloween is a little daunting for new players esp without heroes.

I am hoping new players get some new missions this year so they can join in the fun.

I'm a new player (1 and a half months) and am having a blast so far with the event. It took me about six attempts, but I finished Don't Fear the Reapers last night and can probably say that's the most fun I've had with this game so far. It was also my first time entering the UW, and I can definitely say I'll be going back for more soon. Busy capturing skeletons for ToT bags now.
