Welcome to the world of GW. You'll hit level 20 well before you complete any of the campaigns (GW starts at level 20). To answer your question: Yes, you will be able to go back and finish the GW campaigns after GW2 goes live. And yes, things you achieve and record in your HoM will count towards GW2 HoM Rewards/Titles. A-Net has stated that they'll keep the GW servers up as long as people are playing it, so you probably have plenty of time to get through all of the GW stuff.

Welcome to GW, getting 20lvl is a tutorial bit. Getting maxed weapons and armors is even easier than getting 20lvl.
What cares is your build and skills in it.

You should find a guild that will help you with everything, because you wouldn't make it all until 25th August.

Hi Thanks for the reply, no i fully intend to still play after the GW2 Release... Just was curious... Im in a place ahead of my level and struggleing trying to do quests for 3k xp to level up quick, But i want to complete all the missions and quests possible, but as level 20 i can run quickly through most of them.

I understand about skills etc, but i can sort that out later right? I mean go and unlock skills that i want, swap them around etc... I strongly want a pet so that is 1 skill spot gone lol.

also regarding HoM, If i unlock titles whilst GW2 is released does that still count? as GW2 will be live or will it be just a 1 time reward?

It is strongly recommended to just play the game and enjoy it, you'll take care of the skills after you progress in storylines.

P.S. Feel free to PM me in game for advice for help

So long as you link your GW and GW2 accounts, any progress made on your HoM, before and after GW2 launch, will be credited toward your in-game rewards for the second game.

Hi Bluee, soon you will discover, as everyone else said, getting max level will not, I repeat, WILL NOT let you run through the game. You don't need to have a "meta" skill bar yet but good use of skills will lead to less frustration (trust me I' was there about 3 months ago).

Progress will also be hindered by where did you start. Prophecies is less demanding at first but takes longer to complete. Factions is fast and wll require you to get a good skillbar fairly early in comparison.

For HoM Akelarumi wrote some tips here:

I can only agree, but I suggest everyone to start with NightFall, you get heroes at the very begining and and it's not as hard as faction and not as slow as Prophecies. Experienced players don't like to make Elonian toons because it takes some time of doing quests and missions before you get to lvl20, but for new people it's very good.

Oh I also Think Nightfall is best! when I hit a "roadblock" on my main (warrior/x - prophecies) I Just rolled a new toon (derv/rit) in Nightfall and pretty much steamrolled through most of the HoM points.
