Default Some Questions - Returning Player.

Hi Guru Community

My name Is Kyle, and I'm an old returning player to guild wars. I bought a new account recently as I no longer have access to my old one , so anyways I have some questions about the bonus mission pack, and others.

Question #1 - Is it worth buying the bonus mission pack yes/no?

Question #2 - What level do you have to be to access the bonus mission pack?

Question #3 - Are the mercenary hero packs worth buying yes/no? - I don't like how they take up character slots.

Question #4 - Are the skill unlock packs wroth buying yes/no - Also are they skills easy to unlock or would I be better of buying them, for the sake of hero's.

Question #5 - Are they any decent guilds out that recruiting? - I'm looking for friendly active guild, at lest 15+ people active on a daily basics, decent guild emblem.

Question #6 - Anything else worth buying from the guild store? - I already have all the campaigns and eotn.

Thanks for the replies & answering my questions in advance.

Regards - Kyle

welcome back
The bonus mission pack will give you some different weapons, it has a few missions and thats about it (http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Guild...s_Mission_Pack) to access you only need to be able to get to one of the cities where the npcs are located (kamadan, kaineng or lions arch).
merc heroes do not take up character space, though you do have to have a character to base them on (pvp characters will do) http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Mercenary_Hero

I have not bought the skill packs for my extra accounts and have not really noticed the lack of skills--most skills can be acquired pretty easily ingame, both elite and regular skills.

Check out the guild recruitment section here and see what guilds are looking--there is also a facebook page that has a bunch of players as well (I dont have facebook so I cant give you any more information about that).

until you have played for a while again you probably wont need the other item I like to get from the store: the extra storage panels, unless you are a hoarder.

Mercenary Hero Packs don't take up character slots. These heroes act the same as heroes in game like Koss and Gwen etc acting as a member of your party.

If you mean you wanted to quick create a level 20 PvP character to use as a PvE hero in one of your character slots but not use it otherwise, well once you assign it to your characters you actually use you can delete it from your character slot and it remains as a hero with those characters who already selected it I believe.

Buying skill packs is certainly easier than spending faction to unlock skills and then cash/skill points to buy them of course. So this is also a way of saying you can get them in game if you want to work at them. Depends on how you want to play the game. Just realize that the skill packs don't include the Elite skills as I recall.

I bought the 7-hero pack because I have a lot of characters and it seemed insane after creating them I couldn't have them form a party together. Now they can. But you can get by with in game heroes though multiple rits are a pain to get early on.

I bought I think one of the skills packs but not the others. I also bought the Shining Blades costumes cause I liked the look as an alt armor for my toons. Obviously not "needed" either. And I've bought the make-over kit a few times cause it's all about my characters styling with the right look, haha.

Also bought tons of extra character slots back in the day when they had a sale on them as well as all the storage panes allowed. Those two bonus items were the most important and practical from my pov.

To sum up, no bonus items are actually needed. It's what you want to do with your game in the end.

My additions were over a 6 year period and I started with character slots and storage panes which were the most practically helpful to me though I found the 7-hero pack -- when it came out several years back -- the most fun for me cause it fit my vision of play. The bonus skills pack was a nice "practical" addition. The one costume pack and the make-over kits were my personal chrome and trim for my own "aesthetic" personal fun.

What you decide is what means more to you in the game. How you envision playing it. If you view acquiring non-elite skills a grind you aren't interested in and you have the money then the skill packs may well be a good purchase for you. If you like to capture skills or earn/gain them a little at a time as part of your character's "growth" (and secondary quests) in the game, then don't get them. Plus you don't have to get all of them like I just bought the one.

And you could try it first without the packs and see how it is going. There is no pressure to buy anything right away. If you don't like the slower way of gaining skills then you can always buy them at a later date.

I never bought the bonus mission pack and have zero interest in same so I can't talk about that.

As for guilds go to Kamadan or pre-Ascalon to seek some out and go guild hopping until you find a fit if no one answers you here. I have a solo guild and prefer to do stuff mainly on my own or with some people on my friends list if any of us get stuck doing something so I'm afraid I'm not much help there. But plenty of people around to help IF you find a guild. Or guilds. If one doesn't work you still may make a friend or two in it so building up an active friends list works nicely too. Good luck to you.

The bonus mission packs are fun, some are harder than others, but I feel that they are worth it.

Thanks for all the replies.

I found this thread about muti-lunching, more then one account.

Is this allowed?

I only want to do it for trading between my accounts, extra storage ETC.

I found out I have another old account nothing special buts has some stuff. I would like to transfer the stuff over to my new account and I don't trust anyone. I'm sure I can find people on here, but again I want to be on the save side.

lots of people use multi-launch, lots of people have multiple accounts....most people have had no issues using multi-launch for the purpose you are suggesting.
You should be ok to use it for transfers or the like.

There are two options: Guild Wars Multi-Launch (GWML) and an older one called GWx2. Afaik people use GWML pretty much exclusively nowadays because it's more flexible (it'll allow you to run more than two copies of GW simultaneously), likely among other reasons. Standard disclaimer: use these programs at your own risk.

If you want to know what something is worth your best bet is to ask in the PC forum as cosy stated. There is a website that tracks buy and sell messages from Kamadan, but be aware that it can be manipulated so don't use it as anything more than a rough guideline. See here. The people in the PC forum ought to provide fair and unbiased opinions.

As for a list of perfect mods and such, see here.
