i also looted my first rune today, rune of minor vigor...do i need to use an expert salvage kit on the charr hide its on?

yup. you need to use an expert to unlock everything on pve (auto'd i believe in pvp). (which means its still 50/50. GL.

leaving post-searing...hmmm. i basically did all the quests for all the waypoints/areas around ascalon and then moved on.
most of the city wps, i would do all their quests 1st, then do the missions, because they auto you to the next wp or city wp, which makes it ezier rather than running to the next wp.

ofcourse to get new skills, you need to move from area wp to area wp to find the other skill trainers.

i guess when you think/know that the area monsters are getting too ez or gives no exp. you move on. ( i wouldnt know exact lvl, it would depend on build and class specifics of the charac).

just a new charac of mine:

this is a somewhat temporary glitch i found ingame: (pet was still usable even without "charm pet" skill)

(pet did disappear after i instanced back to abbey, it was fun while it lasted.hehe)

morbid scene @ catacombs:
