Yeah, you ran through the portal. You can do the same with the Granite Citadel portal, you can walk through easily there.

Have you tried walking over the edge, I tried it at Granite Citadel and just as I gott on the edge my screen screwed up, luckily I managed to get back, its pretty cool though.
