It's in vogue to hate Americans. It's true just about everywhere - albiet not by everybody. Much of what the world knows about the American people (govt. is a separate issue) comes from the Hollywood films and from the TV shows we export like, Jerry Springer. It's surprising how many people are afraid to visit the US for more than 2 weeks because they fear getting shot or mutilated randomly.
