Is there any good axe builds that dont use Elite skills? Im only up to Thunderhead Keep and have capped about 3 skills

Would really like to kill them faster!

Ive tried this run with an axe, doesnt work for me so i recommend sword.
btw. some update came up and now my run doesnt work so ettin farming is real real slow now

Take Cyclone Axe, Disrupting Chop, Executioners, and one other nice damaging axe skill, mending, balthazars, sprint, and something to heal yourself with. You should have no problem killing the ettins without an elite - it just helps to have eviscerate. =)

(I got eviscerate in Sorrows Furnace)

An Axe build works just fine - though a sword build with bleeding does it quicker.

I personally don't run 2 enchants - mending and balthazars - just mending works great.

However - dolyaks with physical resistance and a collectors stance sheild will work just fine as well. (just so you don't have to take time switching between /me and /mo from the IDS run).

just started to play again, waiting for Factions to be released. I started to farm superior runes from these Ettins, so far I've gotten 1 Sup Vig and Sup Abs, and alot of shit, but anyway, I run a W/Mo build, which is very "noob"-friendly :P, u can take on 6 ettins at a time and slaughter them all, pretty fast too.

I use the following skills

1. Dolyaks
2. Frenzy
3. Galrath
4. Final Thrust
5. Berserks Stance
6. Healing Hands
7. Live Vicariously
8. Sprint

attr.

15 sword
10 strenght
9 tactic
8 Healing

---
Cast Live.Vic, find a group of 3-6, start with berserks stance to get ur adrenaline up, when it ends activate dolyak with frenzy, spam galrath and final thrust (and frenzy as long as u have dolyak activated), if ur Hp runs really low, activate HH ( frenzy at the same time), HP 100%, galrath + final thrust , and then berserks again, well u get the drift.

I never get any luck with these runs, never. I farmed for 3-4 hours to only get a bunch of white pauldrons and humps.

if you're 6 in a group, each personn will have somme drops (including henchies, but their drops are invisible)...
so, you divide the loots and money by 6

Just did a rune run and not 1 single rune!!!! 3 pauldrons changed color as they hit the ground, so I guess thats it. Well I'v had a good time killing ettins, but seams I have to find another place now lol.

*something* is definately up with the last update. went farming and got around 15 drops ..... ALL white. wasnt antifarming code for sure b/c i had just done the DDF quest and capped SoJ beforehand. so after that, i switched builds to farm titans and again got around 7 titan armor drops ..... ALL white (got a few blue weapons here tho). anyway, i doubt its just bad luck and i seriously hope whatever the update did isnt permanent.

a later update fixed the issue. 2 sup abs, 2 sup swords, 2 sup curse, 2 sup axe, sup fire, sup blood, and sup illusion for about an hour and a half work. plus about 10 major abs/vigors.

just a thought- but since the update i havent seen a gold produce a major rune. was i just really lucky or have they finally made it where golds give only superior.

Can't wait to try again - i get lousy drops from ettins for some time now...since they upped the sup.absorb rune drops I'll commit to some ettin-massacring with standard riposite-interrupt-dolyak build real quick.
