I think the point of chapter two is being missed. This whole expansion, (even though it's really stand alone), is asian in theme. So we really shouldn't expect much of what we see to fit the core classes all too much... as we know them now. I'm sure if this was our first game, we'd think it fit fine.
I'm kinda half-half on the whole thing... I want an asian continent... But what I want for my exsisting characters is more midieval in tone. I have four toons, just like most of you, and I don't think most of what I see fits my current conception of my character. The mesmer armor I love... except I want it for my elementalist... all in black. And all the rest of it? Meh. Either I'm not thrilled, or it doesn't look different enough. If they are going to do asian... really do asian.
For future expansions I would really love to see a ranger in leathers with a cloak covered in leaves, and a hood that obscured his head. That's what I want to see, a stalker. And I want my elementalist in black robes... you all know what I mean, like the black mages from dragonlance. Maybe some nice gold runes on the hem. (Dye the robes any color.)
I hope the next few chapters cover a greco-roman empire, an arabic desert with quick street rogues and big, fat, two-handed sword wielding eunuchs, more barbaric areas with more barbarian armors, and a more traditional fantasy realm with some mushroom rings in the forests and some vampires bothering the mountain villages. Yeah, that'll work.
But, yeah, remember that this next chapter is all asian, then you won't start hoping too hard. I for one would love some samuraii armor... better than the one in Tombs.

Let's see now... we currently have

shiverpeaks (siberia)
kryta (mid-south america)
ascalon (europe)
crystal desert (north africa)
faction (east asia)

Hmm... maybe south asia next chapter, thailand, india, philipine etc... that would still be pretty cool.

meh - not that impressed so far. Might consider getting a new hat for my warrior if I can get one of those huuuge samurai ones with lots of pointy bits on it. Thats about it really.

And the Shiverpeaks remind me more of the Alps than Siberia.

Robes, wizard-ish style. Hopefully they improve on the initial look.

I still prefer the the Monk armor we have now although those pics are ok and I hope there is going to be a 15k Knights.

I am still waiting to get my Saintly and Wanderers 15k and maybe druids for my Ranger.

Someone from GWOnline posted the Assassin and Ritualist equivalents, so here they are.

IIRC, those are their starter armors, except for the female assassin, who looks to be wearing the Saboteur armor.

The new nec, ele, and ranger armors are terrible IMO, with the exception of female ranger armor which is ok. The ele armor is the worst. It looks virtually unchanged from the way it is now. Same goes for nec armor - crap.
Seriously. This is pathetic, cant they come up with better looking armors? Pay a couple of bucks to any girl who's a beginning fashion designer and she'll draw you what will look like a masterpiece compared to this crap.

The new monk armor is nice, it actually shows some design, thaught and creativity. The warrior armor is ok too, but the female warrior armor looks more like the old dragon armor, and helm looks stupid.
The mesmer finally looks better. especially the male. I likes.
The female ritualist is allright, (male looks like a cyborg/robot) but the assasin armor looks idiotic. Why not make him look more like a ninja, and less like a moran? The whole assasin look resembles some of those cheesy japanese anime out there. (and I do like anime, just as long as it's good)
Why cant a face mask look like a face mask, and not look like it's made of plastic? And what's up with the armor that opens up his stomach? Jeez, this is not a friggin gay bar. This is GW!!!
For the sake of GW, I hope these are "beta" armors, and the final versions will be at least a little more creative.

I think the ranger outfit is suppose to represent a mongol sytle...
really like how the monk is heading.
The male warrior looks awesome, its actually his hat i don't like. They should change it to more chinese general like (fitting the style of the rest of his armor). female warrior just looks...odd..

anyone got any idea on whether these will be collector, standard, 15k or even akin to fissure (heard a lot of rumours about those rubies and sapphires)

/me thinks that these armors are the next to starter, since they are showing them. (exception for the assass and the rit cuz in pvp event they already showed us the 1st 3 sets.)

but no one really knows. from the feedback their getting they could eventually decide to shuffle these around into starters/2ndaries/droks/15k. etc.

/speculates.

I want to see the assassin armor that on the cover of Computer Gaming World.

I hope it's not a NPC only armor like Eve's

Yes I know it's basically Cultist but Eve's version is more sexy. Too bad they didn't make the NPC Hench as sexy as she is in the high quality renders.
