i feel the exact same way. like when i heard he was dead, i just couldnt belive it. no one can ever take his place, and hopefully no one will try. whenever i think of steve irwin, i think of one word. crikey......

also, i was supprised when i heard that he actually pulled the stinger out of his heart before he lost conciouness and died. R.I.P Steve Irwin, R.I.P. you will never be forgotten....

Only 3 people in Australia have ever died from a stingray... He was very unlucky.

What do you mean he was very unlucky? The dude messes with dangerous animals and reptiles as a profession. I'm in awe and wonder that he lived this long.

But then again, how many people have actually messed around with stingrays?

Hell, if you went up close to one and played with it or something, it'd probably destroy you, too.

It only attacked because it was boxed in by two camera men and as a natural defence it stabbed upwards and cut his Aorta. Before he died he pulled the sting out himself

Poor Steve

As an Australian myself, I never really liked him because I felt he was giving Australia the image of a wild adventurous place where everything is as exciting as going to a themepark etc. I felt that it was the wrong image for Australia. However, before you start flaming me for saying that, I think that I can understand that many people lost a hero and an idol (or even just one of their favourite television shows) so,

I'm with you on this simple. No offence to the guy, but think of the thousands of unsung people dying each day. People die. Life goes on. It may seem cold, but because I didn't know the guy my respects would seem hollow (to me anyway)

As an Aussie myself, I sort of felt he gave out the wrong image for Australia (everyone comes up to you and syas G'Day, Crikey, etc), but when I heard about it, it was kind of sad. It's like the wart on your face that you don't like, but when you go to have it removed, you decide to keep it because it defines you in a nice sort of way.

R.I.P Steve.

Your lucky I didn't see the original.

And I was simply telling the truth about what I thought. My post wasn't made with any sort of inflammatory intent.

last night i was watching the news and they were showing interviews and such, and someone asked steve's daughter what she wanted to be when she grew up. She said "I want to help animals just like my dad." Although, no one could replace steve.. they could help the enviroment for the better.

Rest In Peace.
