Well, for the people who care about the stats of a weapon: you should get green weapons.

I see gold/purple/blue weapons only as kind of things that give you status or things you can collect (or the weapon has to be unique, like the -50 cesta, you wont find that in any other colour)

Everytime I look at my golden sword collection, I'm kind of proud and satisfied. I do not use any of the swords though, since that's what greens are there for (well I sometimes use a perfect req 8 sword, but thats only when I can't afford to have more attribute points in Swordsmanship than 8)

Of course, some people might need Poisonous Mods for their weapons, and most greens don't have that mod, but you can just get a Collector's weapon then.

Gold weapons are more for the people who have the money for it, and want to spend it on golden weapons.

A purple 14^50 rare skinned weapon is more in the middle:

it isn't good (at least not as good as a good green/collector's would be), and it isn't 'bling bling' weapon either. I only collect golden weapons since they look so rare and shiny

lol, i found a purple fellblade req 8 14>50 one time, yesterday i found a clean white req 8 fellblade..........I am one of the guys who uses gold items, and i customize them too,

...and yet the golden pheonix blade I got during the double canthan chest weekend had no inherent damage mods. Req 11 too if I remember correctly. I seriously think these colors need to be revised so they actually have a little bit clearer indication of the weapon's quality.

and a few weeks ago, in the sell forum, there was a Purple Crenellated Sword req 8, 14^50.

Now that frustrated me.

I bought a Cruel Oni Blade off someone in Ascalon City for 500g, turned out to be purple, max damage and 14^50. That's better than the weapon I was using...

I buy non perfect purples, I'll take (buy) the bows off you =P and I'll buy that crenelated, 14^50 is like 15^50 except less prestigous.

I was also quite surprised when I obtained a purple 14^50 req 8 Oni Blade from the Shiro'ken outside Harvest Temple.

I thought these stats were only for golden weapons. Apparently I was wrong.

Mods on purple weapons can be up to 1 point away from perfect.

That means the max for a purple weapon mods are...

14^50
(not sure about -5, -10AR, and the degen mods though. Never seen them on a purple.)

Had a 14^50 15-22 purple crenellated sword while farming Temple Guardians in Tahnakai Temple. Youpi!
