two ez ways to get it

#1 Trade Contracts(equip requisition type deals) trade 7 for 1 ruby, saph, diamond.

#2 theirs monsters such as ruby djinn sapphire djinn that probably drop (i didnt bother to check and kill just a assumption)

prices shouldn't shoot up. Sapphires and Rubies drop from other certain enemies so give it a little time.. unless you want to be one of the people who were buying white dye for 40k only to have it drop to under 20 a few hours later.

This is how it will probably work.

People farm djinn constantly expecting to get bundles of platinum. They sell to trader. Price drops speedily as more amounts become available.

I have been farming Lightbringer points outside Bastion and and fave killed Dijinn's hundreds of times and have yet to get a single ruby or sapphire. Yes the henchies are there but one should have dropped out of all those times.

Anet made a big mistaken using Rubies and Sapphires for armor.

The price will grow and grow and grow as the demand increases and the rediculously rare drop rate remains the same and unlike Ecto or Shards, there is no one place that is confirmed to drop more rubies or sapphires than any other location. I for one have been playing for 15 months now I have gotten 1 sapphire drop and 0 rubies.

I don't think you can say that for sure just yet. We don't know as yet whether they increased the drop rate of gems with the release of Nightfall. They could drop from ruby and sapphire djins or be salavaged from their drops (ethereal armor & essences). Also, you can get them from trade contracts, which will drive the price down as more people get to Vabbi.

Also, does anyone one have male ranger 5k armor? The vest looks promising in the crafting icons, but I'm worried about the leggings.

I have a spot with guaranteed rubie, saphhire, not diamond yet, but working on it. It's in an explorable area reachable through Lyssa's mirror(Lyssa's->hidden mission->explorable). ruby essence, saphhire essence, not sure of diamond, and at least jeweled daggers can be expert salvaged for rubies and saphs. Heroes do good at farming this, just set them up correctly.

the only sapphire I had drop for me was when my monk was in ascalon and had to follow devona outside of serenity temple, I had forgotten to get henchies and we killed the mobs of stone elementals and WHOA!!!! a sapphire dropped for me, this was about a year ago.....none since, my hubby got a few here and there.
It will be an expensive trip if I decide to get any of this armor (my mes is looking and my paragon wants the gloves).....we'll just have to wait and see.

Well... just start saving up those Djinn Essences and hope you're able to expert salvage something out of them. The chances of getting a ruby/saph/diamond seem very low but... it's better than nothing.
