One day more!

Im very excited for this result panel. Me thinks I have pretty good shot... but like always, im sure the judges think otherwise >.< Good luck everybody!!

And may I add a suggestion? Now that we have quite a few pictures, after a person is eliminated, can we do one of those portfolio/elimination things, where all the models shots are shown when theyre eliminated? We have only been recognizing the MOTW's shots, but I believe everyone deserves recognition at the end of their competition. Anyone like this idea?

Exclamation Week 04 Evaluations

Here are the deliberation results...in random order...

Raselle Deathblade

Raselle Deathblade is seen doing a dance for a statue of Grenth.

Judge 1: Pose looks a tad bit awkward, overall its not bad.

Judge 2: You look a little stiff, but one of the better shots I've seen.

Judge 3: I like the aura which kinda looked like confetti, it adds to the theme.

Xo Katina Xo

Katina is leaping across the photo with grace. I wanted to make sure that there was movement involved, but graceful movement, nothing too sharp or too much. Just flowing and graceful. The armor selection was also key. The revealed shoulders and flowing sleaves gives you the graceful flowing feeling. The back end of the top also comes down further than the front, making her figure for this pose look great.

Judge 1: Awful. Yes one of the aspects of this shoot was to get some movement, but you forget the "rally the gods" part. Melandru looks like a old giant tree trunk with nasty twigs sticking out. I think you should've waited for favor of the gods, it really looks disgusting.

Judge 2: My biggest problem is that you wore the white skirt. I don't think it goes well at all, you probably should've cropped that out.

Judge 3: Agreed with both comments, I think you really should've waited for favor, I think the tree looks dead and rather depressing, and the skirt stands out in a negative way. Which is surprising since it was mentioned that you were conscious about your armor choice. Definitely should've cropped that out.

I Only Protect You

I went for the dance, because the monk dance really is powerful and dynamic. Balthazar is imo the only god with such powerful attitude, so I chose him. In the ascalon area, because of the pretty backgrounds. It
came out nicely, I think.

Judge 1: Your limbs look like they're being ripped apart, I think the background is great, but your pose is way too awkward.

Judge 2: The pose is a bit extreme, it kinda looks like you're swimming.

Judge 3: It's nice that you were trying to go for something interesting, but you also have to remember that you are modeling, your body looks really distorted.

Perynne Walker

Perynne is cheering on the Goddess Melandru, for she together with Dwayna will make the nature bloom again during spring. I tried to get the same kind of position into my character as Melandru seems to have in her statue, while still having Perynne be clearly separate.

Judge 1: Nice shot, pleasant scene, some movement going on, overall nice.

Judge 2: The scene looks really pretty, I just wished there were more lighting on your face, you should try to reposition yourself to catch more light cause you're being overshadowed.

Judge 3: I think you're thinking too much about cropping, and ended up cropping more than you should've, I kinda get a blank at this, but your full shot looks lively and lush.

Jaden Stone

In this assignment we were asked to combine movement and a dynamic pose all while revolving around a stationary statue. I think this shot out of the many I took best fits this assignment. To me the location I chose resembles an ice palace (even though it's not), so for my pose I decided to make it look like my character is skating around the statue of Grenth. What better way to rally grenth than to skate in his icey domain. So even though Grenth didn't win this windersday and keep the snow here forever, I hope he enjoyed my love for the ice.

Judge 1: Finding Grenth was too hard, you have a very interesting pose going on, but I couldn't spot Grenth, I even originally stated that you didn't even have Grenth in your shot until it was pointed out to me.

Judge 2: Same comment, what were you thinking taking a picture of a light blue Grenth surrounded by light blue skies and light blue crystals? I think your concept was good, but if it comes out to the point where we just can't spot the whole point of this shoot, it's probably not so good.

Judge 3: It took me way too long to find Grenth, not good. The goal is trying to work around with a huge prop, not just stick it anywhere in your background. It should be more close to you, and should stand out indefinitely.

Burnout Chic

Beauty is only an illusion, and inspiration is needed to create it. Lyssa is the right goddess to guide me.

Judge 1: It's too dark, your face is hidden, not good.

Judge 2: Bad angle on the face, we see right up your nose.

Judge 3: Yeah, lighting was bad, not your best work.

Mortissia Faust

Dhuum is the god of corruption. And corruption is a slow but powerful thing. So in this picture, I tried to make Mortissia embody the spirit of corruption by using a more subtle and smooth pose (still incorporating movement and dynamic posing) yet making it intense at the same time.

I wanted to show that a dynamic pose does not have to be happy and hyperenergized, but that it can be a sinister and dark concept. Hence, notice the claw like fingers, the evil grin on Mortissia's face, and the ritualistic (no pun intended) pose.

Judge 1: I think you becoming to get way too technical with your pictures...week 1, the whole story on royal familes, week 2, the whole lions and bones relating to the cut throat modeling industry. Too much. Just way too much. It's good that you're trying, but you're trying and thinking too much about it and it comes off really bad, reel it in and take it down a notch.

Judge 2: It looks really good, there's a hint of darkness from your character, and it works for me.

Judge 3: I like it, its an original thought, I do agree that sometimes you overthink things, but I don't think it goes in this case. Thinking outside the box and overthinking is different. This is definitely thinking outside the box, and I like it.

Malefic Mistress

I wanted to show movement, But i focused a lot on the theme "Rally the Gods." I wanted a pose that showed movement and showed Malefic cheering on Balthazar. I stayed centered with the god because I wanted to try something different from my previous shots, and also because I feel that Malefic and Balthazar are very much alike. I also wanted the spotlight to be both on Balthazar and Malefic, and I felt that centering her with the statue did that.

Judge 1: Very strong pose that compliments the powerful god, I love how the aura adds to your picture rather than taking away.

Judge 2: I think your character looks a little stiff to show any movement. It's too linear in my opinion, it makes it look too stiff for a movement shot.

Judge 3: I like the energy that I feel in this shot, looks good.

Summer Newmentz

Under the ominous presence that is Grenth, Summer has to gather herself as her helper manages to catch a good shot of her getting her barrings. As she makes this pose the words of, "Oh my, Do you feel that? It's the all powerful presence that is Grenth. Behold his power." comes forth from her mouth as the power of Grenth washes over her body.

Judge 1: It's a pretty shot, but your pose is awkward...it's rather bland.

Judge 2: You look rather stiff, no movement at all.

Judge 3: It's ok, not great, not awful. There's no movement, the statue kinda upstage you.

We will no longer post the scores till the MOTW and the eliminated contestant are revealed, that way, it'll be more interesting.

Aww no more scores!! Dang But I guess it could be fun too, You have to think and kind of guess on how your score is and guess at who might be MOTW

And Mortissia, I must say - I think thats awesome you thought to use a different god (besides the main ones) - That thought didn't even cross my mind! Nice job

I apologize (whoever Judge 1 is) if I overthink things >.< I uh, like to treat this like normal photography, everything symbolises something, and it gives the screenshot some worth and value... to me at least. Not just another pretty shot, so to say. But like I said I apologize.

Apart from that. You really didnt show if I took a good shot or not... if it looks good or not. It would be wonderful if I could get a "NICE" or "NEEDS IMPROVEMENT." I'll be sure to not put so much lore into my shots anymore, but I do still want to know if it is aesthetically pleasing... or not.

EDIT: Malefic/Silhouette (LOL), thanks, I really liked all the new lore in Nightfall, and with recent discoveries of Dhuum depictions in the torment, I decided to use Dhuum.

I adore your shots too, you've been up for MOTW 2 times already, and even though we don't know the scores, it clearly shows that you're doing well... again!! congrats ^.^

Well it was a great idea, very creative. I usually think creativly, but I think this time i was so worried about a good pose, I didn't put a lot of creative thought into other things.

And thanks Yeah I kind of don't like knowing the scores, I'm always checking this thread like crazy on saturdays waiting to see them, and now i have to wait another day

Not posting the scores right away is going to mess with my title editing.

Oh well. Good work from everyone.

Shame I screwed up on my shot so bad, I was pretty set on that location, and at 1600x1200 you really couln't miss that staue. After resizing though I can totaly see the judges points, It's like where's waldo guild wars style.

I was going to submit this one but decided there was too much open space
