Default If GW was REAL...

One of my favorite book series is Guardians of the Flame writen by Joel Rosenberg. The concept was simple, or at least at first it was simple, take a group of college students and send them into the bodies of the characters of the Dungeons and Dragons game they were playing.

Now picture that happening to you....

1) What profession would you be? Secondary?

2) What chapter would you be in? (assume any profession can start in any chapter)

3) Would you A) follow the story, B) skip ahead to some point in the story or C) find a safe place to hide and wait for someone else to save the world. (note that if you die in a mission you are DEAD, no res no starting over!!)

3B) If you skipped ahead where would you rejoin the story OR if you found a safe place where would you be?

4) Would you join a PUG doing whatever quest/mission they were off on or would you attept to create your own party of adventurers? (keeping in mind this is a bit more complicated than holding up your hand and shouting LFG)

5) If you managed to either finish the final missions or avoid the apocalypse by hiding would you choose to stay in the world of GW or go home?

5B) If you stayed in GuildWars where would you stay and what would you do?

For the record in the Guardians of the Flame novels the team does make it back home, only 2 are dead and one is suffering massive mental trauma. They decide to return to the world of magic and see if they can save thier friends. One of the dead can be resurected and the girl with mental trauma can be helped but the price is they must all stay in the world of magic forever. They accept and set out on a massive adventure that changes the entire face of that world.

I'll place my answers at some point in this thread....

1) Profession: Possibly Monk or Necromancer primary, Ritualist seconday.

2) Chapter: Prophecies, a classic and with so much room for movement away from the storyline.

3/B) I'd avoid following the storyline. I'd start off in Kryta, but not go to the Desert or the Jungle. Side quests and avoiding turning right!

4) I'd find a tavern and eavesdrop on the local adventurers. With a couple of maps and gleaned knowledge I can get a couple of steadfast meat- partymembers and some pick up's.

5) Depends on how it worked out, I may just go home (slightly less chance of flaming, unnatural death).

Whoo! Now I want to play more D&D and some Ninja Burger. Curse you!

1.W/A, Power and speed lol

2 Porbably Factions, the storyline looks crazy, and seeing the jade see would be awesome, then again the worms in NF would be nice too.

3 I'd follow the story, I;m sure I have enough knowledge the beat the missions in one try lol.

4 I would create my own party, not trying to die here lol.

5 Dang, hard one lol. Would be nice to stay but it would get lonely and awkward after while lol.

5B Jade Sea, if Proph then Kryta.

My Proffession: Ranger-Monk (My main character in GW)
Chapter: No doubt about this Prophecies!
What Would I do: I would go along with the story and have fun with it!
Would I join A PUG: Idk
If I managed to finish the final missions: Yes, I would go home and remember my adventure.
If I stayed in GuildWars: I would stay in bergan hot springs and enjoy the beautiful spa!

- This is very intresting I might as well get the series and start reading them.

1. Mo/A or maybe Mo/N (If anything comes after me, I can at least heal myself if I'm the last one standing. I don't want to dieeee! Well, not without a fight.)

2. Prophecies. The storyline itself wasn't all that great, but there's a lot more scope for playing around and exploring than with Factions or NF. Besides, I don't like the desolation and I'm sick of the Jade Sea, although seeing the latter would be cool.

3. Hmm. Depending on how experienced I felt, I think. I'd probably go with follow the story to play it safe. Alternatively, you can jump straight to me saving the world, I don't mind

4. I'd run off with trusted friends and fill in the gaps with PUGs.

5. Go home. I'd miss my creature comforts and everyone else.
5b. Prophecies: Bergen Hot Springs (yay daily spa!). Cantha: Echovald Forest, Nightfall: Erk, idk, I'd probably get a soundproofed house in Kamadan or something so I could have convenient shopping without the babble of voices constantly outside my window :P

1) Ranger/Assassin, always made a nice "rogue" like class if you ask me.

2) Factions or Elona either one just seems way more cultural then Tyria did.

3) I would come into the storyline probably after the nub island of either one, I'd skip that part.

3B) I'd join the story, theres not much to do in GW so if it were real life... Well not like you can go to a bar.

4) I would solo.

5) Go home, theres jack shit to do in GW like stated earlier. I'd get tired of killing mobs.

Time for my answers

1) Ranger/Ritualits - even though my war is my primary and my ranger is storage I really think the Ranger looks cool and they are great at survival. Rit secondary so I can make some cash healing others with my restoration spells and drop a spirit at my camp as a guard so I can sleep at night.

2) Prophicies...for the simple reason you don't start off with the world coming to an end Give me some time in pre-searing then I'll go help the King drive out the Charr!

3) I would follow the story to a point, that piont being Lion's Arch. Once there I would give the White Mantle the scoop on the Vizier and sic the Murssat on the Shining Blade. Then I would send word to Togo asking for him to come work out a peace treaty with the Tengu/Avicara Tengu. The Tengu and Murssat would make short work of the Stone Summit and both could come with me to Eye of the North and wipe out the Charr.

3B) If I was going to hide out I think I would travel to Istan and hide in Kodlonu Hamlet or Beknur Harbor. My kinda climate and should avoid the apocalyps for a good long while

4) Think I would build my own team, I am a leader by nature, especially if my life is on the line!

5) I would most definately stay.

5B) I would travel all the world and make maps to sell I would challenge a dwarf or two to drinking contests and build a nice home up north right next to Jora's homestead! She would be a very cool neighbor I would have a summer home on Shing Jea Island where I would teach new students how to be a good ranger and laugh at the rookie wammo's that I select as target practice for my students!

1) What profession would you be? Secondary? Ranger/Monk

2) What chapter would you be in? (assume any profession can start in any chapter) Prophecies (best setting initially, at least for my taste)

3) Would you A) follow the story, B) skip ahead to some point in the story or C) find a safe place to hide and wait for someone else to save the world. (note that if you die in a mission you are DEAD, no res no starting over!!) stay Pre-Searing as long as possible then go kill char for the next 20 years or so.

4) Would you join a PUG doing whatever quest/mission they were off on or would you attept to create your own party of adventurers? (keeping in mind this is a bit more complicated than holding up your hand and shouting LFG)
I'd develop a loyal group of mercenaries that kill at my command.

5) If you managed to either finish the final missions or avoid the apocalypse by hiding would you choose to stay in the world of GW or go home? Stay, as long as I had electric, a gaming pc, fast intenet and indoor plumbing

5B) If you stayed in GuildWars where would you stay and what would you do?
Build a Chateau at Longeye's Ledge and alternate between visiting my Norn buddies and hunting Charr.

Oh I'd like to add another thing, if I stayed, I'd raise donkeys for adventurers when they go spelunking.

Donkey Trap Finding Co.

If GW was real then im sure animal's right activists would petition then farming of UW. XD

If GW was real I would be at the ending of NF when Kormir becomes a god. But instead I would push Kormir aside and become a god myself. Then I would go for all the other gods and become a dictating god. Mwhahaha.

1) Ranger / Ritualist.

2) Prophecies.

3) Continue the story.

4) If it is the same population we have today, I would kill myself. If it is people with common sense, I'd start my own.

5) Go home because Guild Wars is mostly boring.
