Default Vinculum Amicitia [RPG] "Bond of Friendship" in Latin LF new PvE members

During my journey in attaining the Legendary Defender of Ascalon title, I had the pleasure of meeting so many people and players from all walks of life, from different corners of the world, and belonging to numerous different guilds. The sticking point among these players was that all of them shared the same common traits - a sense of camaraderie, respect for others, sense of humor and fun-loving people who generally loved the game. These were the same exact traits I shared with my tight-knit group within the [CIA] guild I belonged to and it was very enlightening/refreshing to see that so many like-minded individuals existed all over and within the Guild Wars universe. Getting to know these players outside my guild was not only an honor, but to eventually become friends with them was also a blessing.

Meeting so many new friends got me thinking about what it would feel like to have such an awesome base of real life people converging and being in the same guild, a place where everyone knew your name, knew who and where you are from, shared the same laughs together, and experienced the same level of fun together, without ever having to worry about details like status, ranks, having to show off to others within or outside the guild, having to worry about who is going to leave next or who has to keep recruiting, etc. A gathering of actual players who shared one common goal - to have fun with friends. Sounds simple in theory, yet so hard to achieve if a guild has a single core group of tight-knit players and keeps recruiting other new players, trying to get to know each other, and for whatever reason it doesn't work out, leaves, rinse and repeat.

While working out the concepts of such guild, more ideas were being added to enhance it's attractiveness and survivability for everyone involved. The core of the guild concept is first and foremost the group of player friends, and the goal of the guild is to not only survive and play together as a band of player friends for the next two years, but to also move together intact as a unified group into Guild Wars 2 when the time and need arrives.

Vinculum Amicitia is officially launched on May 15th, 2007.

Vinculum Amicitia? What can I (or my group) expect in such a guild and what are its rules/requirements?
It's a guild of friends, nothing more, nothing less.

* A place where you will log on and be welcome with open arms from friends you already know and they already know you.
* A place where all we care about are the PEOPLE, and NOT the PIXELS.
* A place where we care about one thing, to have fun with friends.
* A place that has no ranks, no one is above anyone else in status. Everyone is the same, a player gaming friend.
* We will remain geared more towards PvE than PvP, as the current group shares a true love for the PvE side.

It's as simple as that. We will play and laugh together as a family of friends for the next two years until Guild Wars 2 is ready for launch. When it eventually comes out, we shall move over as a strong family unit.

If there are rules to abide by, then it would be just like what you would expect if you were hanging out with your own group of real life friends -

* Respect your friends and members.
* No one is called or calls anyone else a noob. We are all gamers at heart and that's all that counts.
* Have a true love for Guild Wars and its future.
* No cussing allowed or tolerated. Really, it's not necessary when amongst friends.
* We do not care about status for the guild within the game universe or where we rank compared to others. Those things are not important to us, but we will support and applaud any and all of your own individual achievements you care to share with us.
* There are no requirements of being forced to farm for the guild, farm for faction points, or any other mundane agendas. It's a game, and it shouldn't feel like a job or grind upon login.
* Be active. 99% of all accepted members log in on a daily basis. Though we do not expect you to do the same, we can't get to know you better as a friend if we don't see you. =)
* ...and the most basic of all rules - HAVE FUN!

Thank you for spending the time to read about us. For any questions you might have or if you would like to get to know us better or possibly join our family, you can pm me online or send me an e-mail at [email protected]
