Default Saint Aggro [Agg] New Experimental Martial PvE Guild is Recruiting

Before we needlessly waste your time, here's the short version:

  • European (Western European time-zone)
  • High-end PvE based around attacking professions (with some light PvP such as AB on the side)
  • Aimed primarily at veteran players (even though we accept newer players under certain conditions)
  • Kurzick (quite a concern for certain PvE-only skills)

Who we are

  • Saint Aggro is a new guild, founded in September 2007 as a reaction to the many older slowly dying PvE-guilds out there. Not counting the obvious factors of loot scaling, Heroes turning PvE into a single-player game and the general lackluster feel of some of the newer content, we believe that the main reason for this slow decay is a lack of direction and purpose.

However, we still firmly believe in and love Guild Wars.

    Otherwise we'd just quit.

Saint Aggro offers a new and rather unique direction: build our guild around an experimental moddable martial build.

In English: play with all-attackers professions (Warrior, Ranger, Assassin, Dervish, Paragon) and develop a build that challenges even the most robust classic Tank-Nuke-Heal builds that include casters.

We then use this build in high-end PvE (FoW, UW, Deep, HM...) and basically just have fun playing it.

(Not just) a martial guild

  • The concept is not completely novel, there have been quite a few successful (and controversial) attacker builds out there (and guilds focused around them). IWAY definitely comes to mind, though we really wish to distance ourselves from such comparisons.

First, our primary aim is high-end PvE, not PvP.

Second, Saint Aggro's moddable build (let's call it Aggroway, for laughs) is primarily an excuse to put some much-needed fun back into Guild Wars. It's also a great alternative for people who are fond of attacking professions above all others and wish to try a novel approach to the game.

Aggroway is definitely not a dogma to live by, just an experiment and an excuse to create an active and driven community.

We definitely don't hate casters. We just want to try something new.

We also want to motivate people to come up with their own builds defying the established ones, whether they are based around attacking professions or not.

Fun and creativity are our primary goals.

The build, please

  • If you've read this far, I hope you're at the very least curious to see what this build is all about.

Unfortunately, we are still in the early testing stages and won't release the build to the public until we are quite satisfied with it.

Not that we're trying to jealously hide some secret, we only wish to release something worthy of our efforts.

Also remember that the build itself is about moddability, and should work with quite a number of different attacker professions in different configurations, with personal touches added and area-specific changes.

This said, here's the main idea:

    • Warriors using the all-mighty Dragon Slash / For Great Justice chain with "Save Yourselves!".
    • Rangers using the classic Barrage / Splinter Weapon / Warmonger's Weapon / Great Dwarf Weapon combo.
    • Assassins under Shadow Form (Arcane Echoed and Arcane Mimicried) form our impenetrable front line.
    • Dervishes using their powerful Avatars with Aura of Holy Might and Eternal Aura.
    • Paragons doing what they're good at: Shouting, Chanting and using their excellent Energy management to cast powerful attacker-focused Spells such as Order of the Vampire.

As you can see, in essence, nothing new.

We just wish to elevate it to a real alternative to primary casters, not just a gimmick build.

Feel free to test this build with your current guild or friends.

If you are in an established guild and your guild as a whole is interested in playing this, I would ask you to let me know about it. I would very much like to participate in the further testing.

If, however, you are looking for a guild and find Saint Aggro's goal intriguing, drop by our forum (http://www.saintaggro.com/) and read our Mission Statement.

We are looking for

  • Fun, Active people...

Above all, we want active people who want to have fun. Whether old, young, easy to pick fights or more reserved, we want players who play.

Clashes of ego are minor issues that can be mended.

    Complete inactivity is not.

  • ...who are Mature...

If you've read this far, you very likely qualify.

We are a very loose bunch of adults. Maturity has little to do with swearing and jest, but with a general positive disposition and respect towards others.

  • ...are genuinely Interested...

If you have no interest in the Aggroway principle or have no intention at all to be creative with this or other builds, Saint Aggro is probably not for you.

We don't need everyone to come up with new things all the time, nor do you need to delete your caster characters, we just expect you to be interested and have fun, above all.

  • ...and have some Experience

We won't train completely new players, but are willing to help you acquire the necessary skill (and Skills).

Saint Aggro is a new guild, with a genuine desire to grow and a unique direction.

Contact me if you want to know more about us.

Sincerely,

Lagg Olagg
Guild Leader
