THE EXPEDITION [XP]

=====[ THE GUILD ]=====

The Expedition [XP] a PvX social community designed for individuals who like to play Guild Wars to simply relax and enjoy the game, playing at their own pace, seeking out their personal goals, and exploring what they self-define as "fun".

[XP] also intends on taking the guild into Guild Wars 2, and will start planning their entrance in the next GW title as more information is released early next year.

=====[ THE MEMBERS ]=====

Our members range throughout the whole PvE-PvP spectrum, with some focused solely on PvE, others focused on solely PvP, and many who enjoy all that Guild Wars has to offer. Either way, everybody is very open to other people enjoying what they want to do in-game, whatever side of the spectrum they define as "fun."

One key characteristic of an [XP] member is self-sustainability: Members are able to support themselves in the game with whatever resources are available, whether in a group or solo. Our members don't need the guild to have fun or get things done in Guild Wars; being in the guild just enhances the excitement and enjoyment of playing.

The other key characteristic is professionalism: All of our members have established a healthy relationship between gaming and their real life priorities, which helps us maintain a mature community. As far as in-game professionalism is concerned, whether they are new to the game or a Guild Wars veteran, every member acknowledges their potential and persistently strives to improve him/herself as a gamer.

We are a small, social group of friends who are strong, independent players that play the game for the game, and are in the guild for the people.

=====[ ACTIVITY & EVENTS ]=====

Our activity and playtimes vary, mostly throughout American prime timezones, but we do have international players, and usually there are a few online throughout the day who participate in playful conversations in guild chat or Ventrilo (talking on a "nickname" basis) while everybody focuses on whatever they are doing in-game.

Our guild activities are often member-created, where it takes one person to say "let's do something", and the guild discusses in guild chat or on the forums about what adventure they want to seek, whether its a Challenge Mission, Elite Dungeon/Zone, or Team PvP.

Nobody is ever burdened to participate and help out, but that doesn't mean we don't love playing together as a team. We work with whatever resources are available.

=====[ GOALS & ADVENTURE LOGS ]=====

In the spirit of the theme, The Expedition has an Adventure Log system on their forums, where each member lists their personal in-game goals and learn about what everybody else is currently working on.

As for goals as a guild, [XP] is currently under discussions of the following team content (including, but not limited to):

PvE: HM Dungeons, Slavers Exile, DoA, MQSC, Underworld, Challenge Missions, Zaishen Quests

PvP: Heroes Ascent, GvG Scrimmages, Alliance Battles, Sealed Deck (when released)

Ultimately, the goal is to get new members well-acquainted with our guild, so when Guild Wars 2 is released, we have a group of tight-knit friends to explore the new title with.

=====[ RECRUITMENT ]=====

[XP] is looking for unique, fun GW fans who believe and will uphold the guild's mission statements for Guild Wars, and wish to join us on our exploration of the next Guild Wars title. The guild intends on staying a small guild (~25) to keep its tight-knit, nickname-based community, making sure each member gets the attention and voice they deserve.

Recruitment is application-based, where applicants are asked to introduce themselves and share their personal story to our current members so people recognize you as an individual (and as a friend) from the minute you step foot into the community. Though our guild is technically age 18+, we look more for professionalism shown both in-game and in-real-life in all of our future members, no matter what your age is.

Applications might be intimidating, but its literally the ONLY thing we ask for. We put a lot of thought into our applicants, and we ask them to do the same. Once you join the guild, you are only expected to relax, enjoy the game, and have fun with us.

We welcome anybody (couples/partners, groups of friends, "lone rangers", enthusiastic leaders, team players, teachers, learners, etc) as long as they are social, self-sustainable, and able to make a name for themselves, standing out as an individual in our community of unique characters, both in-game and on the forums. People who require daily events to keep the game fresh, people who only play when other people are online, or people who sit in the corner never adding to the community are probably suited elsewhere.
