Who we are
Our guild name is "Liars Cheats and Thieves[Liar]". We have been a guild for 3 years and have about 80 members(70 of which have logged in within the past week) and are always looking for friendly players who enjoy participating in group activities. We are largely US/Canadian. We are Kurzick but have a sister guild to dump Luxon faction. Our focus is mainly pve.

Our goal
We want Liar to be an environment where people can play together and enjoy anything the game has to offer. We want this to be place where people share their knowledge and experience with each other. We do not want our members to feel inhibited from trying an activity either by a lack of personal experience or a lack of manpower within the guild. People help each other out here, be it just with playing through the game for the first time, or learning advanced end game runs.

Though being helpful and friendly to newer players is a focal point of this guild, we still do very advanced end game activities. Fortunately, Guild Wars is a game where an individual can very quickly learn the ropes and be prepared for any activity of the metagame in a matter of months, or even weeks. We believe that having goodwill and patience towards newer people is not only the right way to treat each other, but also keeps the membership steady over time so that such runs are always possible.

You name it, we have done it. A lot of it. DoASC, UWSC, FOWSC, MQSC, DTSC, SoOSC, bogrootsSC, VSF, KathandraxSC ect. Some of those activities are not meta anymore, but it matters not. We constantly keep abreast of what is going on with the game and its community to be on the cutting edge of group activities. If you do not know what some or all those things are, fear not. Read on

Being a 3 year old guild, we have seen people go from brand new scrub to hardened vet many times over. This has been a 'cradle to grave' guild for many people and we like it that way. The environment is what is most important here. This means that we are open to inviting people who are new to the game or returning from breaks. We will work with people to get them up to speed. We are more interested in people's ability to get along and work with their guildies than their immediate performance on runs.

Looking for new officers and members
With the above in mind as our focus and mission, we want to start filling out our roster with 20-30 new members who feel that this kind of guild is right for them. Of these new members we would like to promote a few to officer positions. The type of people we are looking for these roles are the type who have a lot of enthusiasm for group activities and have the initiative to bring people together and start runs. Specifically we would like each new officer to pick one open night from our planned events schedule and take charge of organizing an activity for that night from week to week(see next section for more on that). We will not be making promotions right away. Expect it to be a couple of months so that people really get to know you before we make any promotions. We are looking for long term officers.

Planned events Schedule
Something that has been very popular with us is our planned events. To save time on organizing runs on the spot, these runs are posted a week before hand in our planned events forum where a date and time is set. Then throughout the week members who are interested sign up for specific spots and show up at the scheduled time, with their character's equipped and ready to go. You do not need to sign up a week in advance if you do not know if you can make it. You can wait until the night of and sign up if there are still spots open.

This is the weekly schedule we have at this time:

Mondays-FoWSC
Tuesdays-Kathandrax manly spike
Wednesdays-SooSC
Thursdays-TBA*
Fridays-Urgoz/Deep(alternating biweekly)
Saturdays-Underworld
Sundays-Bogroots manly spike

*As you can see we have Wednesday nights open. We would like to get an event up for each night of the week. We are going to promote people who are interested in organizing these(see previous section for details). In order to spread the leadership of the guild around, there is a limit of one night per officer. Events can be anything as long as they involve a lot of people.

Our requirements
Our only requirements are that members be 17+ and willing to use ventrilo when playing with other guildies/allies. We do not require members to be on vent outside of group play but we strongly encourage its use since we feel that it helps people get to know one another.

Ventrilo is a free voice chat program ( linked from our website with installation and setup instructions ) and if you need help, any officer will be able to help you get setup on it.
