Talking (GW2) Blacklisted Gaming Community: PvX, Hardcore, Mature, Quality Over Quantity

BLACKLISTED GAMING COMMUNITY

Quality Over Quantity
WWW.BLACKLISTEDGC.COM

*We do not actively play Guild Wars anymore, but a few get on from time to time to finish their Hall of Monuments. This recruitment is for GW2.

*Many guilds claim that they are hardcore, but similar to politics, most of them go on and on about how awesome they will be without giving any details on how they expect to reach those goals. Below you will find the core elements that form the foundation of our community. Enjoy!

About Us
Blacklisted Gaming Community is a mature clan comprised of hardcore gamers. We love a good challenge, and thrive off competition. However, friendship and fun is of most importance to us. Everything in life requires balance to be successful. Therefore, we support each other in both the gaming world and real world aspects. At the end of the day it is only a game, and accomplishments are meaningless without friends to share them with.

- We are not a zerg guild.

- Teamwork is critical to success, but we expect our members to be independent and dedicated. We do not spoon-feed or carry people through a game. Our goal is to build a tight-knit community with a high level of performance.

- We believe the top guilds on a server should build the community up, not break it down.

- Providing both PvP and PvE in our guild (PvX) allows us offer a variety of content and knowledge to our community. We expect our members to support both gaming styles.

- There is more to be said about the success of a guild aside from Server Firsts and Rankings. We are highly competitive guild, but many of these things are icing on the cake to us. Our leadership does its best to weed out those who need to be delt with. We do not follow the survival of the fittest mentality by walking over each other, forming cliques, or allowing elitist jerks to degrade other members. Any goal can be achieved with the right amount of teamwork, morale, and constructive criticism.

- Social Atmosphere: It is not uncommon to see 20+ people talking in the same Ventrilo channel. We are energetic and have a twisted sense of humor. Officers and members blend very well together, and we do not pull rank unless it is required. I would recommend that you wear a headset if you have young children around as this is not a G-Rated community. We believe in equality, and do our best make sure that everyone is equally offended (lol)

- We are playing other games while we wait for Guild Wars 2.

- Clan History: ACE Online, Warhammer, Aion, Rift, APB, and many other games on the side. Our members have experience in many different genres of video games and platforms.

Utilizing The Website
Members should check the website frequently. There are forums for game discussions, events, and other announcements. Important information will be posted on the calendar and/or sent via PM. Keeping up to date on clan activities will make your experience more enjoyable.

Ventrilo
All members are required to own a mic/headset, and download our voice program. 99% of all communication takes place verbally. Not only does this contribute to the efficiency and success of our clan, but it affects the overall enjoyment of the gaming experience.
Download Ventrilo: www.ventrilo.com/download.php

Computer Requirements
Many forget the importance of hardware. A world renowned surgeon is useless without his surgical equipment. The same goes for a skilled gamer without a computer that can handle the stress load of a game. We do not require everyone to have state-of-the-art equipment, but we do expect you to be able to play at a high level of performance. No one likes to play with the guy that crashes every few minutes and has a max of 5 fps.

Semi-Mandatory Attendance
We do not force people to be online at certain times no matter how important an event is. Real life always comes first. However, we do expect you to be in Ventrilo and ready to participate in mandatory events that take place while you are online, or any other events that you sign up for. Our clan is laid back and fun, but members will be expected to know when to settle down and get shit done.

Need Before Greed
Those who participate in an event have the option to roll on loot drops on a Need Before Greed basis. Items that are unusable by players in the party will be put in the guild bank, passed to other guild members, used for crafting materials, etc. It has always been a policy of ours to put the guild first, and that also includes loot drops.

Static Groups
Some players enjoy a more aggressive play style than others. Therefore, we do allow PvE and PvP static groups in our guild. Those who set up a group are responsible for all management that needs to take place. Conversely, we do not allow cliques, and expect participants to bond with all members of guild whether they are apart of a static group or not.

Crafting System
Ensuring that all members are well equipped and prepared for battle is a critical factor in determining efficiency and success. This includes gear, potions, scrolls, etc. Therefore, we make it a priority to institute systems that support and provide beneficial services to the guild. However, each game is different, and requires an adaptive management to be successful. This usually leads to a promotion of a guild crafting officer, who will manage guild craftsmen and the efficiency of their productions. This will be explained in more detail during an interview.

Clan Events
Every now and then we like to mix it up and do something "outside of the box" to get away from the traditional grind and repetition of the games we play . In the past we have held PvP tournaments, hide-and-seek, video contests, and other group bonding activities such as guild night.

New Member Evaluation
All applicants must undergo an interview on Ventrilo. This information will be emailed to the address provided in your application. Once a player is permitted to join the clan, he/she will be evaluated over the coming weeks. If at any time the officers feel that the player is not fit for the clan, they will be asked to leave.

Clan Ranking System
We are a multi-gaming clan. Which means that ranks may carry different weight depending on how the chapter leader decides to run their clan. Some ranks my be added, subtracted, or altered. However, all chapters will follow our core structure in some shape or form.

BGC Ranking Structure:
- Founder
- Chapter Leader
- Officer
- Member
- Recruit

Inactivity
We understand that some players are more casual than others, but there still has to be a line. Therefore, any member who has not logged in for 14 consecutive days, and has not contacted anyone regarding their absence, will be kicked. Please let us know about your absence by posting it in the forum thread titled "Going Away". Members who are removed for inactivity and decide to come back should contact an officer of the clan. Understand that inactive players are only removed from the in-game roster. Only disciplinary actions will result in a clan member losing their access to the website and Ventrilo.

Douchebaggery Clause
It is important to respect one another. Remember that new players are always joining, and some have different levels of experience than others. Take a moment to collect your thoughts before you criticize someone, or make a joke. Know where the "line" is!

So what can be covered by this "No douchebaggery" clause?
1) Racism
2) Constant Degrading
3) Annoyances & Immaturity
4) Trolling (we all like to have fun, just know where the line is)
5) Drama & Cliques
6) Inappropriate Behavior: In-Game, Ventrilo, Forums
7) Botting, Buying Gold, and Leveling Services.

How should we react when someone is truly being a dick?
Warn them. Tell him that "Hey bigotry is not tolerated here", and also tell him what the repercussions will be. The latter is very important, and all members should know what will happen if these lines are crossed.

Deal with problems in a mature way, and keep it contained to prevent excessive drama. Go to an officer for help if the issue can't be solved alone.

Have an issue with someone in the clan?
As it was stated above, we would like issues to be handled with as little drama as possible. However, there are times when a person may be hard to approach, or things get out of hand. We ask that you please contact an officer immediately. Either pull an officer aside in Ventrilo, or send them a PM on the website. We will do our best to keep names confidential.
