When you head to the northern wall sector (it's a directly connected sector northeast of Ascalon) you will see a button in the party window. If you press that "Enter Mission" button you will be sent into the "plot mission" that has a cut scene at the end of it.

When you do these missions they will take you from city to city and automatically steer you in the right direction. Within a lot of these locations you will also be offered additional side quests for experience points, equipment, or skills for your character. It's highly recommended that you do these quest, especially for the skills.

YOu wil notice too that when you go to the northern wall that all unpartied human characters have a class and level floating above their head. That gives you an idea of the relative level of teh people in that area.

If you've never done it before, it's a good idea to try and paty up with people to gain experience in the game. Or you can hire henchmen to do the job.

Good luck and enjoy.
