Default Sorrow's Furnace

I have read on Guildwars.com of a new area due to out called Sorrow's Furnace. Having completed all but the underworld and winning in the hall of heroes I was wondering if anyone knew when we will be getting the update for the new area. Also has anyone picked up a wisper of any release of the upgrades for Guild wars

it looks to me like ( and this is just conjecture ) sorows ferrnuse might be a cupple of diffrent areas, or atleast sorrows fernus is an area in another area that they are adding. i also beleave that if they where going to place it any ware they would have to place it under ground, and the entrance would have to be ( due to the extream heat), eather in the northen or suthern wastes, or in the fire isle's

It will be in the footprint north of Camp Rankor.

On the eastern slopes of Lornar's Pass, north of Camp Rankor rests the deep, slag-strewn expanse of Grenth's Footprint. Once a sacred place for the dwarves of Deldrimor, the peak itself has been completely dismantled, and the land torn open to get at the precious metals beneath the soil. The Stone Summit have dug deep into the Shiverpeak Mountains. Underneath the stripped, barren land, are the all-but-depleted mining shafts of Sorrow's Furnace

Now This will be interesting because i have opened up all that area so when it does update i wonder if i will see it straight away

Yeah actually if you head up snakedance there is an area with a lot of summit and gollums, if you head to your right and down there is a staute of grenth, and it heads lower into the ground. that would be my guess.

this is my best guess as well ... right at the southern tip of lonars pass by the entrance to dreadnoughts drift lies the statue of grenth 'quoting information on the footprints' I usually head here to get my morale or blessing before going on again to battle some summit mobs. Its a cruel cold land out there and I cant wait until the release ... as well I cant wait until we get more new content like jungle basins, rainforests, heck who knows boat travelling, lets just put it this way ... I cant wait. Anet is doing a great job! And my map is entirely clear now. (except all of u/w & fissure)

That areas actually just inside Lornaars pass at the Very Bottom before the mid section.

hm... maybe sometime in JULY the Sorrow's Furnace expansion will come onto Guild Wars for free, although I'm not too certain about it yet...

Can someone from NCSoft or ArenaNet clarify that this is for Mid-July?

The Sorrows furnace update should be out this year, probably late summer or early fall depending on how much work the devs put in. It will be streamed to all users for free via the live updates.

As for an actuall expansion, a retail expansion, the socalled "chapter 2" is due out early 2006.

*all information here was made public knowledge by Anet/NCsoft by an interview, check the home page for the full article...
