They might possibly be body blocked. Anywayz, as a healing monk you're not going to be able to kill the last boss even if all your henchmen attacked your called target. You need some form of interruption, or else you won't be able to outdamage the boss's words of healing on the priest.

One time the henchmen actually ran past the boss, looked at the priest, and then turned around to wail on the boss. Argh!

You may have to keep calling the target to keep them focused. Also, as was pointed out above, they could be blocked by other enemies. As for the monk boss, try luring him out of the shrine first and then rushing the priest. Since I am a mesmer I was able to kill the priest quickly regardless, but it seemed like after luring out the monk, he was focusing on healing some of the other enemies that were left and forgot about the priest. Either that, or he just wasn't keeping up with the damage I was dealing to the priest... but that last priest went down as quickly as the others, so I don't think he was getting healed much by the monk after I lured the monk out.

I just did Thirsty River with henchies. The key to the last fight, the one with the monk boss standing next to the priest, was getting the henchies to attack the priest. Tried many ways but the only method that worked was to eliminate all six outside mobs then get my group standing in front of the door leading to the priest, the bowman and the monk boss are at this door. Once my team all gathered there a charge to the priest worked with everyone including the ghost attacking the priest.

The best way to get all six outside mobs away from the two healers was to attack the three that path farthest from the boss, then wait for them to be reserected at the next 2 minute cycle. This way all six came running out for me. Eleminate them and then group in front of the door, then charge.

nothing better when the guild has 4 lowlevels(from 4 to 15) in the desert, one level 20 helps out, and we invite a stranger.....

first thing is, they start to wonder.. then, if they dont leave, they get interested, and after the missions they normally say:

"wow. that was easier than with a team full of 20s"

now, if i only could get those koreans NOT to pwn my sorry ass in about 5 seconds, i'd say i start to get the hang of this game :P

oh and something ON-topic:
if they just attack the boss it MAY be because they are blocked on their way to the boss.
if theres a target slightly left or right, call that. then call the priest again. maybe this helps.
i am not sure, but i think there are major changes in the AI since the last patch. to me the henches seem to pick targets more freely now. they still start to attack what you attack, even if you try just to spread poisoned arrows, but if they stand around in the midst of enemies, they start to pick the weakest, or the most dangerous and so on.
i noticed situations where they seemed to have an exact tactical analysis when it comes to targeting. but well, i just could have been drunk or something. but it definetly LOOKED that way. and if this is true, then well, maybe theres a new glitch that makes em sticky to the boss due to a certain... hangup.

oh and IF they fight for a long time, you should call the target again, every 30 secs or so, just to make sure.

its not that henchies suck, its just a rather cryptic science to make them work properly. i know at least 3 ways to get a hench to attack something.
and every way has to be used properly, according to the situation at hand.
most of the time i will be using only one method, though´.
