Default Sanctum Cay- why do i suck so bad.

ive tried this mission oh, 5 or 6 times, some with henchies, some with people. I completed the bonus while trying to do the mission once, and naturally was annihilated by the mantle. I have looked at other threads on this, but was unable to find a solution to my problem: how do i beat this mission? Im open to any strategies. oh, and im a basic lvl 20 fire ele with an unused necro secondary, except for the occasional well o blood.

Is the part you are having trouble with the very end where you have to protect the Vizier? Always stay close to the Vizier. Don't spread out too much, especially if you use henchmen. Take out the savants, then the fighters, then if you have a lull, the boss. If you bring two monks it should be fairly easy even if you can't kill things fast enough. You could just keep healing until the boat arrives and then just hop on.

Another thing you can do is go to the Temple of the Ages, grab 7 henchmen and walk all the way down to Sanctum Cay. You will then be able to use your party of 8 for the mission. It's a bit of a trip but it makes the mission extremely easy.

My experience is that if you have a party of 8 henchies and you so much as set foot in a town that only lets you have 6, it strips off two of your henchies... you can walk from TOA to outside Sanctum Cay, but if you go inside to start the mission, you're back to square 1.

If you enter a town or mission with different level henchmen, you lose your henchmen. However, the henchmen level at the Temple and Sanctum Cay are the same so you get to keep them. I've used the 7 henchmen to beat Sanctum Cay many times. It works.
