Emos can farm UW with the same restriction as Mo/Ws---no disenchants of your PS. The main difference w/ using a Emo instead of Mo/W is the replacement of Bonetti with Etheral Renewal. The build listed in that quote is very good for UW.

Ok, umm i dont mean to be the bringer of bad news or anything, but, as of this morning i noticed a change in UW, and so have many other monks, my theory is Anet must have changed the amount of times the aatxes interrupt you, because i have died 5 consecutive times early on in UW, too early. Also i even switch to two man smite run to make it quicker, and even the nukers were pissed off because all the monks they have been with were crap. So ive came to the conclusion, somethings changed im just not sure exactly what. and i am pretty pissed aswell, took me a load of gold to make the build, not to mention time too, and i only got to use it like 15 successful times... ya i might have earned my money back, but still! not the time, can anyone else back me up with this?

by the way, it wasnt like this before 12:00, tried this from 8:30-10:00 in the morning

I don't see any differences in the aatxes. They have always used Savage Slash regularly to try to interrupt you, but they will rarely hit it on PS (unless they try to interrupt the skill before PS and miss it, thus hitting PS - therefore, don't queue PS).

One thing that can get you early on, though, is Skull Crack by the darknesses. This leaves you dazed which makes spell casting very difficult. They usually don't use this early in a fight but if you take a relatively long time to kill them, you may see it. If they hit it, you are in big trouble. PS is still hard to interrupt, but it takes 1/2 second now instead of 1/4... keep trying until you get it (Bonetti's first helps) and don't worry about the other spells until you are no longer dazed.

So don't waste time getting Balthazar's Aura going against the darknesses. Also, Skull Crack only works on an interrupt. So don't cast more than you have to against them.

If people are dying on the aatxes, though, that's just from the inexperience of using the new builds, or not using them correctly, or not understanding how they work. The aatxes present no real difficulty that I can see.

I respectfully disagree with this comment. Something has changed with the bulls. Before the update, I managed to clear the bulls 75% of the time (sometimes I press the wrong button by mistake and die that way). But it appears the bulls have been nerfed. When I tried soloing last nite, I finsihed the first group of mobs w/o any trouble. But during the fight with the second group, I was hit by a bull, and then ALL spells (prot spirit, b aura, etc.) that were in effect disappeared and I died right after.

I haven't had the chance to go back and try again today (Europe had favor when I was online). Hopefully someone can: a) confirm the possible nerfing of the bulls (some sort of enchantment removal?); b) test and confirm no change in the bulls' behavior/repertoire.

When I posted that, it was before the recent Sorrow's Furnace update. Since then, nightmares have been added to the aatxe groups. The nightmares can remove your enchantments. Soloing in the UW is effectively over, at least with this build. But the build still works in any other place without enchantment removal.

Before that, I saw no change in the aatxes. Aatxes can't have enchantment removal added to them - they are warriors, which have no ability to do so. This is why nightmares were added to remove enchantments. This is only since the Sorrow's Furnace update.

have you tried? The shadows go down in about 2 to 3 wand swings alone... very very weak creatures.

The only difficulty is going to be in making a build that encompasses all 4 monk traits to accomodate spells such as spirit, mending, SB, and smiting skills.... then there is the skill in actually doing it right... I think Anet has actually brought the level to challenge, but not insurmountable... which I appreciate. I did a duo run today with very good efficiency. Through the entire area we got 2 rare fellblades and other assorted goodies.

The whole point of a massive multiplayer online game is to play alone, solo. Oh, wait.

Lowering your health points so that Protective Spirit's effect which only allows 10% of your max Hp so you only take 5 damage which is quickly regenerated.

idk how the originator did it. but i maxed out smiting and protection, with left over in healing. and then the superior energy storage rune.
and for weapon a raven something staff with + whatever, but the best thing about it is 'smiting prayers + 1'. only reason i use it.

i tested it out in the desert first before i waste my money on UW.

i killed 4 hydra...and then they destroyed me.

the enchantments really don't last that long, it's surprising. you just have to stay on top of it.

you do however get plenty of energy back from being hit. just have to fine tune it with what to cast first, second, etc.

and some type of ele skill to keep from being knocked down would be very helpful...anyone know of one?

Where are your attribute points? I'd been playing around with pretty much the same thing, but am still working on getting attributes right.

Who me? I really only check these boards every so often and rarely post. So what? Not really much that needs to be said most of the time.

Edit - I just looked... I've been on these boards longer than you. LOL
