Got two superior monk runes that I sold unID'd for 8k each.

Also a few gold items, one was a max dmg longbow of something or other. Mostly I just get purples though. Useless stuff with mod combos that make no sense, like req. 9 fire magic, increases casting speed for healing prayers.

A Max Dmg. Shortbow with excellent mods (can't remember what they were) that I gave to a guildmate.

Probably could've sold it for a lot of gold, but oh well. I've got a ton already anyway

My best item from a chest has been from the first Shiverpeak Chest I ever opened when I first arrived in Grenth's footprint. It went straight to my Monk character!

I was, at the time, overjoyed and proclaiming that I love chests!
then everyone started farming the chests like crazy and I haven't seen a gold item out of them in a while...

i've probably opened more than 30 shiverpeaks and miner chests so far and all i got was crappy purple items and not-so-good purple bows and not-so-good gold bows

for me keys have been a total ripoff thus far

Keys gave me almost everytime staffs, canes, cesta's and wards. Although they where max damage and sometimes gold, they usually had insane cross-class req. such as 11-22 firedamage req. 11 div. favor, +12% regen of death magic if health under 50% and +3 armor. Or something like that.

If I don't get crappy magic sticks, chests give me the absolute and most-sought-after Necro minor death runes or Ranger major wilderness survival rune. Or any other rune that I can't use.
Yeah, great stuff, those keys.

I'll see if I can make a screenshot of some nicer weapons I've found. One of the best (I think) was a Defensive Jeweled Staff, Energy +10, Chaos damage 11-22 (req. 8 Illusion), Quick recovery from crippled, armor +4, health +25

is this items other than the green items i take it. Ive been getting more and more green items than i ever got gold ones. And there all good. THey have green weaps of every class and artifacts and so forth. The green items are awesome and mainly drop when your in parties. Ive noticed that the bigger your party the more likely your drop rtes get. I think there trying to base it on the number of players your working with. Hope this helps and promotes big parties

I have gotten several gold weapons and runes from chests. You cannot get green ones from a chest. Here are some:

Rune of Superior Air magic, Water magic, Superior Tactics, Superior Domination magic

Gold Max Damage Axe
damage +15% while enchanted
armor penentration 10% (chance 10%)
enchantments last 20% longer
(great for farming)

Gold Max Damage Hammer
damage +14% while enchanted
Life Stealing 3:1
Armor +5

Gold Max Damage Air Staff
Energy +10
Armor +5
Energy +3
Enchantments last 20%longer

I also had a REALLY good Necro staff that I traded for a Ele staff with my guildmate. It was something like:
Max damage
Energy +10
Energy +4
+20% faster skill recharge
+1 to x Necro skill (20% chance)
Armor +5 vs (either ele or physical)

Gotten 2 sup absorbs, sup vigor, 2 sup monk runes,
A 4/19 hale staff with 20% smite recharge
sundering bow with 14 over 50 and marksmanship
sundering sword with 12 over 50 and 5 armor
more than a dozen gold bows, axes, hammers, swords

I got a Superior Rune of Absroption last night! That sells for 60,000gp or more! That makes up for all the keys I've ever bought x10!

Now does my warrior wear it or sell it!?

i got a 15>50 Vampiric Gladius of Defence (with maxed mods)
i was happy to say the least.
the rest of my chest drops have been either purple with no mods and req. 13 or very crap golds.

I've done ok. A superior vigor, a pair of +5 enegy > 50 health wands, a nice 5/1 vamp hammer.

We should make a list of what item types drop from what chests. The shiverpeak ones seem to give reasonable odds of finding a max summit axe or warlord shields.

So, I tend to think that certain chests drop certain types of items. It would be neat to map out the chests and particular drops that people have gotten, and maybe we'll start to see a trend.

I have gotten some nice summit gear north of Granite Citadel, and nice Mursaat stuff South of Thunderhead. This really makes me think that the chests are area & enemy specific with the type of drops you get.

I probably spent close to 70K on keys, and unlocked a ton of runes and mods that I needed but nothing that was any better than my good gold stuff. Still is kind of fun taking a gamble.

Has anybody farmed the chests in UW or FoW?, I haven't spent any time down there post-update and am curious to see what those are dropping.
