Default Farming.

Now that Rivers and drakes have been "nerfed" I've been looking for other places that may be a good idea to farm. If anyone has any good ideas on where to farm please post them below.

Thanks in advance.

They are still good, I lure all 24 drakes together in the map and use hundred blades on them over and over until i kill them all. I still always get a couple yellows each run. They just arent worth the time anymore unless you can do them by yourself now.

Why do you open two topics about farming? There are plenty of places to farm.

Farming is a necessary and important part of a game. If you do not have places you can farm to acquire items easier then people will not want to play. Everyone likes to do different things, some PvP, some PvE using different characters, others like to farm for items and trade them. The obviously made some nerfs already but rest assured there are still good places to farm I'm sure. It's not about keeping it a secret from dev's because if we had to run through missions over and over again or do other stupid things to find items then no one will play and there will be a severe shortage of crafting and other items. I think now it's just a matter of tweaking so that farming isn't ridiculously easy where you get tons of purples, blues, golds all the time. But if you killed a large group of drakes (solo) and got a 1-3 decent items you should be happy. If we get too many items coming out too fast the economy will suck, prices will drop, etc. It basically comes down to balancing things out so it's not to heavy on either side.

Simple economics people

I farm to unlock items. Then I give them away to guildies....unless its an item like Fiery Dragon Sword that every n00b would pay over 1k to get it.

Post-acsension has the best farming now. I farm to unlock as well. Like most level 20's I have more gold than I need, so I don't even bother selling to noobs.

Ive heard from a friend of mine ( and he showed me proving it right) says that now you get pretty good drops from farming Petition Rock.

Him and I are W/Mo, and figured out which skills to use and where to put them in skill bar, as well as distribute stats to where we can handle entire mobs by ourselves and lose no HP.

Purples, Golds, and other drop alot. Maybe it's luck with us, but been working and until it's "nerfed" we will continue to farm there.

Unless I'm missing something, I don't think any of the post-Ascension missions are very good for farming runes, though. Certainly Perdition Rock is filled mostly with nasties that don't wear salvageable armour. I guess farming Mursaat in missions is a viable option, but it seems a little difficult, and I found the loot in Southern Shiverpeaks to be rather unexceptional, although I haven't really tried farming there and only went through full missions with full parties =p

I've had some luck with the plant life in Lomar's Pass, technically a southern Shiverpeaks area, but accessible from Beacon's Perch immediately after the Frost Gate mission.

It's a great place to earn monster-kill experience for mid-level (13-15) characters, since even with a party of six, you're still earning upwards of 50 XP for each kill.

Also, the mobile plant life seems fairly rich in purple items, and virtually everything in the area goes down pretty fast when you set it on fire, with—for instance—Immolate.

So far you can now only get 100 blades from Undead Prince Rurik from the last mission.

With my W/Mo I usually farm the Hill Giants/Chests in the Sanctum Cay mission.

It's very easy to do solo, just use Sprint until you get to the hill giants. No combat needed 90% of the time.

Beware of Fareed the Unworthy though, if he's up then you're just plain screwed if you're solo. He runs faster than Sprint, and his buddies make him impossible to solo.

There are 5 hill giants right before the old monastery, each has an excellent chance of dropping purple/gold "giant's boots." Usually, these will have runes attached. I typically get at minimum 2 minor runes of some sort from just the giants. I've gotten multiple majors and occasional superiors as well.

After giving the scepter to the Vizier, you can then use sprint to access the remaining chests of the mission. The last 2 chests are the richest, and I've gotten multiple purples/golds from them in the past. I've also gotten nothing but junk from them, but that's rarer than the good drops I've gotten. It's really very difficult to describe where all these chests are, but if you go around the last half of the island with ALT pressed down, you're bound to see them. There are 4 chests available after turning in the scepter.

Creativity and flexibility are key to Sprint farming. I figure you could do the same with Storm Chaser, although you might have more difficulty as a ranger soloing the hill giants.

On that note, anyone know where there are other hill giants in this game? I'd like to find them if so, as these are pretty inconvenient to reach.

I am currently farming Flesh Golems north of Ember Camp. The drops aren't terribly great, but with my Me/Mo build, I can take 5 or more of them at once. The XP is pretty good and you will rack up plenty of spare skill points this way. BTW, most of the drops are Necro type stuff. Anyone know a good spot for unlockable armor drops? I haven't found a rune in a week :-(
