Default West Coast Brothas - Help at THK!

So last night I finally decide to try to get a group for Thunderhead Keep with my necro. He's been stuck there for about 2 months and I passed the time by creating a mesmer and getting her all the way to Hell's.

So I arrive at the keep. Within 2 minutes I see a couple of monks with the same cape on. I'm thinking, 'this is odd. there are never monks in thk.'

Next, one of them says, 'group of 3 monks helping with thk.' I'm in. I message the first guy and immediately invite myself into the party. We got up a group of 8 and took off.

So to make a long story short, we finished quite easily. One of the monks had an err=7 toward the end, and somehow even knew it was coming on because he said he was having network problems. But since the 3 monks had galvanized the group, we had no problem and everyone knew their role.

I hope the mods don't see this as a negative post and delete the character names. These guys are truly awesome and plan on making it a weekly event. 3 monks that help 5 people defend the keep.

Thanks you!

Wow, thank you for the great message ... your necro did an amazing job. The ranger ran in off the hop to attack the ele boss before defending the keep, that cost a few members dp, sorry for that ... also had to have sasha run through the last group to get the jump on the catapult. But all in all, it was great. We used to through beer/mead fueled trivia nights ... but trying to find a median of intelligence in this community is rather difficult. So Sasha Latrobe (Wrane Latrobe), and Two Storage (Sir Mopar), decided as the only 2 others on atm, to run the mission we hate most... in a random pug ... and pick up members that other wise may not have passed it due to the populations (pig head sterotypical grouping system) ... we said grab anything that comes our way and role with it. Luckily we had a decent group and really no problems beating it. Sasha did send his appologies on our vent server, for getting dropped, but we were almost done at that time anyways ...

yep we will be running through that mission once a week in random groups ... hope to see you all there!

I for one, cannot wait to do this again, I hope the other 2 monks feel the same. I really enjoyed the challenge, of picking up an completely un-organized group at "THK", and making the mission complete. What was really fun about this, was we had no nukers, if I remember right, it was 3 Monks, 2 Necros, 1 Ranger, 2 Warrior's. Although there was a couple moments where I thought we were going to loose it, especially when Sasha died when the whole courtyard was aggro'd. At least "X" and "Two" kept thier game up, and did everything needed to get everyone back into the game, while in complete aggro. It was a challenge that I really enjoyed.

Thanks for the post, look for us in game.

PS.
I thought of a name for us monks.

What an awesome attitude! You all do deserve praise. I finally got my W/Mo through this mission with a surprise of the bonus too. (Some one thought to light the torches before talking to the king at the end.)

We wern't the perfect group, in fact our monks were henchies, but the whole group had a winning attitude and listenned and stayed together. We saw earlier in the mission that our strongest character was actually the lowest level character. She had "the well" spells so we kept her at the top with the king and stayed centered around her. We rarely went down to the gates and remembered to kill the names last. We had deaths, but not at such a high rate that we couldn't rez and keep going. It was a beautiful thing. ;-)

This mission is in fact about wanting to help each other to win and checking the egos at the door. I would have been proud to have been in any of these folks' guilds.

Kudos again to your guild for not only showing an excellent game 'tude, but helping others in the process of enjoying the game.

You remind me of a guild that helped me with the "Undead Hordes." They were out to farm them, but did it in a fun and creative way that helped new folks with the mission. I hope more of the more experienced guilds start doing this. What a change in the coop staging area there would be huh?

Okay..enough gushing..just on a high after completeing that mission with a random pug that was awesome for a change.

Default Of course I am always game to help

I love helping, and even more so, i love challenges. I always enjoy monking with my guildies, and am always up for this again, weekly we will run this, maybe even semi weekly, if we are available.

Unfortuanately I am caught in a mixed stuation where my account is being temporarily suspended but I will still play on an extra account my guild mate has. I look forward to running this again and hope we are setting a decent example for other guilds. After all iQ set an example by taking PvP players into the arenas to help develop the PvP play of individuals, and that same mentality is what we want to spread to other guilds.

The point in this thread is obviously eluding you. Shuck off the wamo tude and you might see it. Monks are a hot commodity in THK. Experienced guilds that help others through hard parts of the game are more common, but harder to actually be a part of.

And by the way, just because you have three monks on an 8 man team does not mean you will survive. Remember, we only had 5 damage dealers. Not to discredit anything WcB did, but just know that it isn't a given win.

And this thread is bringing to light the fact that WcB have put this challenge upon themselves, and they are doing it well.

Well, not as well as we had hoped. This mission still depends on teamwork to complete it. We just had an unsuccesful round, due to some not paying attention to called targets and such. That, and one dropped out right after pulling a cap sig. It is not a definite win with 3 monks, but a major help it is. To be completely honest, we hate the mission, but we do like helping, so we offer this when we can spare the time.

One for all, all for one!
