Angry Is it me? or are the SF drops not dropping

Hey guys, I have been doing SF for a while now, and since it came out lol I havn't gotten a green item yet, I just buy all of mine! Like 2 days ago I was in a 5 man farming team in SF for 3 hours! No one got a single drop! I just want to know if any one else has these problems? And also a question: could it be that since so many people farm SF a day that the green drops are going down? Whatever this is, it's messed up.

My first three times farming with a full compliment of henchies (beginning of October) yielded 5 green items. Most from Yakslapper. What's the big deal with the green anyway? They don't seem to be as special as you would think.

I went in with a team of 8 once and 11 greens dropped total. I also went in once and didn't get anything.

And, how are you taking 3 hours with a 5-man team? Unless you're farming it repetitively (which will nerf your drops), you should be fine and do it in 1-1.5 hours. It's been a while since I've done 5-man...I found they weren't that efficient at farming greens.

I agree. It's either "no drops" or "two drops for him and none for me". There's more profit elsewhere in Tyria.
James Phinney promised better drops in the state of the game letter.

Where are they?

Things were great after the SF release but they're now miserable and we still haven't had our questions answered by ArenaNet.

You haven't noticed why most non-max golds and upgrade prices are dropping? Because rares are everywhere now; all you have to do is open certain chests and get them. Anet kept their promise on rares; greens are kinda different.

So i have to buy keys now so i can have a chance at getting a rare? Where is the fun in opening a box?
Sorry but if i kill a level 24 creature, i expect more than just a stone summit badge.
I certainly do not want to be opening boxes which are based on a system that's 100% fake and engineered by some guy sat behind a keyboard accross the Atlantic ocean.
The old loot system was fine. Since they nerfed the majority of farmers, the least i personally would have liked to see is a return of the good days of drops.
Instead, the nerfed loot tables and skills remain and we are expected to be pacified with blue scrolls for useless XP and alpine seeds.

You might buy it but i certainly will not.

Before you ask if i have been to SF too much...no, i haven't. I took almost two weeks away from the area and the drops were still worse than any mid-level area elsewhere in Tyria.

thing with the nerfed drops that I noticed about farming is if you wait awhile (like 24 hours) and come back your almost guaranteed to get a gold item at your favorite farming spot first run.. but then it drops after the second run- but this is what's a trip.. certain times of day it seems everyone farming the same area will get certain gold drops no matter what.. I know this because I've done enough selling to see when it happens.. like I used to do runs in UW come back with a gold storm bow- soon as hit toa there's another guy selling an un'id gold stormbow.. if I ran UW and got a gold eternal (once had 2 gold eternal bows drop in same run one right after another)- there's guy trying to sell a gold eternal bow when I got done with the run.. and same thing with the greens when I used to solo farm- tanzit would drop a certain green (like razorstone or tanzit's shield) and in war camp everyone was selling the same green.. it did'nt hit me till tanzit dropped his shield- I had'nt seen this drop in awhile and did'nt see it selling in war camp for a couple days.. got to the camp and 3 people were selling it =] last runs I made in sorrows were real bad though- out of around 5 solo runs I got one green.. back when the update hit you could get 1-2 greens off the boss you wanted every run

Yeah i hate that. Maybe it's coincidence aswell though?

I was trying to sell a 5:1 vampric string in one of the many ascalon districts earlier. Considering that there are so many districts and i only ever try to sell an item perhaps once a week, i was gobsmacked that the guy below me was also trying to sell a 5:1 string

I've found several 15>50 bows, and a 15>50 icy spatha of enchanting +20%. I'm not complaining.

dunno it could be.. just happens too often though- it took a few before I realised maybe they have set times when certain things drop.. when think about when started guildwars too- there'd be times when I was farming runes and the runs would be sick all of a sudden with gold armor drops

This sounds just like in D2. Ppl also claimed better drops at certain times of the day. Maybe they used the same algorithm or random generator as in D2

Actually its more of a probability issue. If you take a whole bunch of confetti and drop it on the floor, it's NOT going to be all spread out evenly. There are going to be clumps. Nobody would claim ZOMG the confetti is clumping itself together, its just random chance that more than one thing drops at a time. This is basically what happens.

I was at a wedding the other day and we threw the confetti over the happy couple and i noticed something really weird. Some of the confetti just clumped together in little piles and i was like "ZOMG, the confetti is clumping itself together!"
It reminded me of the good luck periods of loot in Guild Wars.

I don't know if the bride was happy with her feather, pearl and necklace that i gave her though.

I'm pushing 700 hours of game time with 2 charas through endgame...mostly PvE and have been hanging in SF the last 4 weeks. Not a "farmer" as I know it, though I believe I am getting there... Eplain this to me... are you saying that if i do 3 back to back Orozar runs, my chances of getting good loot GO DOWN??? and what about UW/FOW...as I am heading there more now... Please define what you mean by repetetive farming and what do you base this statement on? Thanks...

Example: I did about 20 back-to-back Orozar runs - obviously with some breaks thrown in, but I didn't enter any zone except for GF/SF. Not a single green for me. Went out and helped some people with other missions, came back, got 2 greens in a few runs. I mix it up every so often now and try not to stay in the same place.

I went out with a 7 team SF farming party last night, and got three green drops! I think there were only two other green drops, so you can imagine how jealous the rest of the team was. So it is all a matter of luck. These three green drops are, by the way, my very first green drops. I have been farming SF with henchies a lot, and have never seen a green drop before last night.

Ugh, just when I thought this thread had died.

If you want a green that damn bad and you're going to be farming
regardless go farm somewhere worthwhile, raise the cash, and just
buy the stupid thing.

Rare means rare for a reason kiddos.

TBH I've noticed that drops have got really pathetic lately, and I don't just mean the rare or decent ones. It's got to the point when I've sometimes felt the game has forgotten I'm there- earlier for example in the FoW, I went nearly 10 mins with no drop of any description not even dust, while others got 3 or 4 drops in the same period. I've also noticed that some people consistently get the best drops while others get nothing (very noticable if you regularly quest with the same people. BTW these aren't farming expeditions, they're full teams of 8 with no henchies, doing quests so drops shouldn't be hidden, nor should the decrease drops for repeatidly doing the same area apply either.
