LOL i think i was "that lucky monk"

In three days i did 5 runs which produced me:

Grognars Sword
Ragos Flame staff
Razerstone
and Malinons Shield

Needless to say...it was amazing

Actually, none of those runs I included had henchies. I should probably throw in a few henchie runs just to compare data. However, I don't know where that 7% number came from; as a normal member of the group, I'd guess they get the same as any other member and get 12.5% of the drops.

I'm not sure if the profession has anything to do with it but I have noticed some people have everything and other people have nothing

It's really frustrating in the sense that the crap I aquire in my travels only seem to be for other professions in my collection I have only 1 gold sword which req. 13 swordsmanship 0 gold axes or hammers 1 gold bow and a few purples but i have in my posession about 10 gold staffs for necros eles and monks I've never got a green drop at all

nah i think its jus based off chance. its ur luck if u get a drop and ur bad luck if u dont. wen i ran a 8 man team through sf farm, i got 2 green items, ivors and korvels which if u guyz didnt no, r bak to bak bosses they r about 2 feet from one another, and im a warrior/monk. its jus really the a.i's drop ratio for ur account, nuttin more.

and can someone giv me a damn price check on a green "korvel's cane" and a green "ivor's staff" ive heard diff price ranges and i dont wanna get jipped on a trade.

I love getting gold armor which yields useless major runes. Why bother dropping such crap? It's been happening quite a bit lately. Used to be Gold Armor always salvaging superior runes.

As for green drops, it could be Anet counts the number of green items in the account and allocates drops to those with nothing. So henchies always get the most cuz they technically always have nothing.

In my opinion, the drops (on characters I play) seem to go like this:
Monk >(or =) Ele > Warr > Nec
Poor nec hardly ever gets a green drop.

SECOND QUESTION
Have you noticed that taking a quest inside SF affects green drops? Most people do not want to take Tharn's or Ennis's quest thinking they reduce green drops. I can say that Orozar's quest does not reduce drops IMO, but of course this is a different animal. I do not have an opinion either way on this one, anyone else?
I have been farming the Furnace since it opened, and not gone anywhere else since with my necro. Case in fact, I am a minion master, and I have had at the very least 50 green drops. Now the rate of the drops have varied from time to time . It does not matter how many people are in the group, nor does it matter on the class of character you play. The game is set up on a RANDOM drop selection, nothing more. I have gone into the Furnace with a complete team of guildmates over and over and seen various drops at various times. You have to keep plugging away to get what you want, or keep farming for items you can either trade or sell for what you want/need. Good luck.

Default Green Items

R/N20 first time in GF I took 7 henchies and got 2 green drops, cheap stuff.

Next time in with a Nec minnion master, 5 henchies, we did GF and 3/4 SF
I got 80k worth of green in 4 drops, Nec got nothing, Next 3 weeks never another drop. I tried having no green in my inventory, I tried putting all green in storage, and now I've sold all green and still no more green drops.....I don't quite know what the secret is!

Is it you're only allowed so much then your charactor is done with green?

It's very tiring spending 4 hours killing all Bosses and seeing no green, maybe time for the new "Call of Duty" game.... and I've changed locations and missions just to see if that makes a difference....

At least their (programmers) are keeping us busy!!!

All the Best.

Mylo Cat

PS, and Yes nobody wants to farm with a Ranger!!!!!!

I found my first razorstone when I was exploring SF for the first time in a full henchie team. Of course this was just a couple days after SF went live and drop rates were probably better then. Now FA bosses are so over-farmed that getting a Rago Flame staff or another Razorstone seems to be a lot harder.

Anyway, I farm with my monk and any time I get a green drop that I already have, I just give it to someone else in party for free.

Just two figures:

On a eight man team you'll have to slay around 1920 bosses to get each green drop. (I'm taking scientific measurements on the drop rate)

after playing the game for 460h and 23 minutes the first BLACK DYE dropped for me yesterday.

a pal of me is playing the game for 806 hours and has so far found ONE BLACK DYE (after 8h of playing the game)

To the Original Poster, I have to disagree with some of the opinions here, i play a E/N(side note, perhaps it's the Necro half..hmmm) and only recently started heading to SF. After the dismal first run, i emtyed my gold to get a better count and kept stackables in my inventory. In the five, 5person runs my guild did, i never once had to empty my inventory or sell for room. I recieved 29 enslavement stones and 15 sets of salvage items.
Thats it.
I watched as every guildmate got at least one gold or Green item. The average gold recieved per run was 785g. I personnally think Anet has it out for me hehe. But as long as my guild got some cool stuff. I'll suffer in peace

It is possible after a while, a character has reached their limit of green drops and is no longer allowed to have them drop.

When I first started playing with my elem in sorrows, I got quite a lot of greens, but now it's become few and far between, maybe because I switched to the greedy henchies. My necro has better luck than my elem at the moment. At least he found Rago's Flame Staff and Grognar's Sword using henchies.
