I just went farming with a guid friend of mine, we are both warriors and took 4 henchies with us. we killed 4 or 5 bosses outside sorrows and decided to call it a day cause we both got a green item and i opened a chest to find a sup vigor in the armor i got. before this 4 trips with hardly any drops seen for anyboyd in the parties. It is just pure luck. Im now rich

also green items have hugely gone up in value (well, the good ones) so no they arent worth 4k at most

One more thing: greens arent worth that much (only for a new player), but to those that got to War Camp they arent really worth anything, since green items drop from practically every boss in GF and SF. The week after the SF update, someone started a thread about the value of GREEN items, and it said that they are worth 4k (at the most).
I think Greygon disagrees...

What would u say if all the other team members died and you practically killed the boss and his minions solo and the boss drops something for another team member? And that other team member already got 2 other green drops.

I do agree something is fishy with the random generator.

its an interesting finding~~i have met a monk who went with us and he got a grognar sword, Rago's flame staff and a Malinon's Malign hammer other than greens...he got a gold long bow too......omg.......and for the rest of the team, we were only awarded by many many stones.....lol

Now, if the item was gold (maybe purple) and have the same stats as one of the greens (talking about all weapons and also energy items) it would be worth much more than the identical green item. Even the worst farmer can get in a pug and farm for greens and get at least one. I suck at farming with my Necro, but I got a green (shadestone), but not many pugs go out and farm griffins, charrs, trolls, avicara, etc., people take their chars and farm alone, but the worse farmer in the game would have difficulty (think about farming ice imps north of GROTTO, they have all the mind spells, even the top runner has trouble getting past them) getting the gold/purple item. Gold>Purple>Green>Blue...this is prices and its my opinion, so if I was to sell the shadestone, I would probably get about 4K (if I was selling to someone that has played the game since the release and knows what I'm talking about), if I was to sell it to a noob I would either be offered 1k or 50k if i had a gold energy item like the shadestone, i would get much more than 4k (probably 7k-75k,this depends on how much they want the item). Whoever is interested in this item can easily go to Deldrimor War Camp, and farm bosses and have a 50-50% (depends on size of group) chance to get the item, so now, would you rather spending 10k+ on a item that isnt rare, or pay for a run to War Camp from Camp Rankor (1-2k) and then farm there and get the item you are looking/get green?
See my point, gold items with the stats of the shadestone (+12 20/20 i think) dont drop very often, the shadestone will drop roughly around every 7min (if the bosses spawn in the same location, otherwise you gotta look for them). In short, green items are worth less than purple&gold but sometimes most of the time more than blue items. On the day of the SF update I was in ToA, someone said that green items are SUPER UBER rare, but on my first farming run i got the shadestone, perfect gold/purple items are rarer than those perfect greens, they are also worth more.

This is a thread about green drop distribution, not prices. If you'd like to continue the discussion Hot Dead, just tell me and I'll split the posts off from this one. Otherwise I'm going to stop commenting on it.

So, does anyone else have actual numbers or is speculation going to continue?

Hmmm. I must say that most of the green items that dropped for me where on my monk. I started playing my warrior and ranger and nothing green dropped for me. I mean I went about 2 weeks and couldnt put 2 and 2 together. lol So I went back on my monk and started getting green drops every day. So you can guess what character I play in Sorrow's. lol

I have to say that I think its strange but defenitaly not random. I have played my monk character with teams of 8, 5, 3, and 2 and have never gotten 1 green drop. I have seen warriors come out with 2 or 3 and eles the same. The only person that seems to have worse luck than i do is a guildy who plays a mesmer, I dont think he has even seen a gold item to this day...but i am sure there are lots of mesmers out there with good items

My Necro never ever got green drops, until I grouped with a guild who needed a Necro to finish their Orozar party, after we did Orozar we went farming in SF, and after farming, we did quite a large chunk of UW.

By the end of the night, my Necro had made 250k. I got a Razorstone, and 4 other greens. A ton of golds. We opened a lot of chests. They always dropped the stuff from the chest that they didn't want. I ended up with a full inventory halfway through things, from picking up their stuff, so I salvaged the worst stuff. Came back with enough materials to pawn off that I could get three sets of 15k armor...which I did the next day.

They thought I was the luckiest Necro ever. That was the only day I ever got greens. I farm out there with 5-man teams sometimes, sometimes I go with henchies. Never gotten a green since that day.

I'm assuming that this guild frequently farmed SF, thus making most of the green drops go to me. I think 3 other greens dropped, one monk got 2, and the mesmer got the other.

It does seem that with henchmen, the first time you go to GF/SF, you will typically get the green of the first boss you kill. Its been that way for my girlfriend and my brother. Both killed Flint Fleshcleaver first, and so got some junk greens that nobody wants.

Usually i see green drops going to the most moronic person in the group, no matter the class.

Must be a bug.

My Necromancer has never recieved a single green drop, although i've been to GF/SF around 10 times. All I ever get are stone summit badges...(which are, by the way, WORTHLESS! ) This Ele guildie of mine, however, has gotten about every green with doubles of most of them.

The only reason ArenaNet would reduce drops for a certain profession would be to reduce solo farming, but they probably wouldn't do this because its obviously unfair on people who go in friendly, balanced PUGs.

Interseting to read all of the other reasons, ie you go SF 30 times a day you won't get green items...

If you go anywhere 30 times a day you won't get the best drops. You have to "rotate the crops" and switch farming areas every few runs. Otherwise your rares and greens just go down the hole.

I went to SF for the 1st time today, first group was great, 5 green drops, 3 to a W/Mo and 2 to a Mo/W, I'm lvl 20 E/Mo, and the best I got was some Scrolls.

Did it around 7-9 other times, everyone was getting greens except me, and I'm lvl 20 E/Mo ((

Same here for me.. My Necro once got Drago's Flatbow but I never ever have the luck of getting a green item.

It seems that Necro hardly get any green drops then say Monks or Warriors. The parties I've been in, we had a warrior ending up with 5 greens and our monk with 2..

Seems a bit unfair
