Default Mesmer Build Help!

Hello everyone,

I have a lvl 20 mesmer/necro and she has been a health degen and I'm looking for something different. I'm not looking in any specific direations at the moment, and I'm open to any secondary. Any suggestions would help.

Thank you in advance!

~kbealow

*Edit* I'm only looking for PvE builds, as I don't PvP!

Well, I've found mesmers to be extremely useful pve. Which is on the contrary to most.

If you want to make a mesmer that is very team friendly, you will need to go the utility route. I nice simple build is this:16 Domination/9 Fast Cast/rest in Inspiration.

Skills: Echo/Blackout/Shatter Hex/Shatter Enchantment/Inspired Hex/Empathy/Energy Burn.

This is a diverse, yet simple build which allows you to do many things depending on your enemies. Alot of warriors? Echo empathy and spam away. Alot of hexers? Echo Shatter hex. And so on.

But what really makes this build dirty is the ability to indirectly drop bosses like noones business. Echo Blackout. Enough said.

Now remember, this build for the most part isn't a direct damage dealer, so don't expect to get the "boom headshot" idea flowing. Any team that wouldn't want you on there team using this build is a team not worth wasting your time on.

Mesmers never get old and you can really do some wierd stuff for PvE. I finally got mine to Ember Light Camp (with the best THK pug EVER). Right now I'm a utility caster with 14 Dom, 12 Inspiration and 10 Illusion with like 2 or so in Fast Casting. I run Empathy, Backfire, Arcane Thievery, Chaos Storm, Conjure Phantasm, Ether Feast and Energy Tap (plus res sig). This build is good with damage, OK on casters and not a drain on monks or necros.

Between Mesmer and my Ranger secondary, I really want to try out just taking 8 interrupts.

Try Phantom Pain + Shatter Delusions on bosses and see how fast they die.

I would replace echo with arcane echo and exchange blackout for an elite of your choice. As a mesmer you should NOT be shutdown. I always found running blackout should be a secondary profession like warrior since they still do damage. Its your choice of course but running echo elite is pointless since all you use is spells.

You're missing the point of using Echo and Blackout. Blackout is solely for bosses and/or pain the asses that need to be blacked out. The reason for Echo is because you can't Arcane Echo blackout. Since Blackout is a skill, not a spell. Also, Echo'd Blackout can shut down any enemy you chose for 20+ seconds.

Blackout also makes for a great interupt. Since it interupts anything.
