Meteor Shower=dead boss,the only problem is not getting interupted when charging it up, just did all the ascention missions last night along with the doppleganger thing, Meteor killed them all, just need tanks to engage/block and some interuption on the boss and monks to heal. This is attack plan works well for most boss's, I bet Glint will fall the same as the rest, Ill let ya know in a day or 2.

1.) Glint cannot be knocked down. Therefore Meteor Shower wont interupt her.

2.) Rangers ca also bring along Delibating Shot, so she has no energy. Thus making ranger more efficent interupter than Mesmer. (Although a nice team would be getting rid of one ele and replacing it with a mez. A mes and a Ranger working in unicen is brutal.)

3.) Glint is easy. We don't really need a guide to figure out how to kick her ass.

See, what I'd love to see here is a guide to killing Glint /solo/ without any henchmen or party members.

So I partnered with a random group, breezed through the Dragon's Lair, and roasted Glint in the blink of a dragon's eye. I was never attacked and never died. Nobody else in the group died either. During the battle with Glint, I stood behind her as she concentrated on the dragon slayers, and let rain down from the skies much fire upon her.

The guide is nice, but the mission is too easy already. Writing a guide for killing Glint is like writing a guide for killing a Carrion Devourer or a Rogue Bull.

I killed glint with the help of two random people who were good at interrupts and the rest of the team being henchmen. It was easy.
I got her down to half health by myself as an E/R with a full party of henchmen, but I couldn't interrupt the Crystal Hibernation by myself.

I was very disappointed that nothing interesting happened when we killed her. Not even a cinematic of her resurrecting herself.

yesterday i beat glint with 4 players and 2 healer henchies. 2 other people dropped out during the mission. if i can recall, it was 2 rangers, 1 ele, and 1 war. it took about 5-10mins to finish off glint. the 2 rangers were great at interupting and applying poison. the warrior was a great tank. the ele was a sec monk and was initially designated as the team's primary monk so she didnt really have any attack skills equipped except for some lightning elite skill she captured from one of the dragons.

ALL the necros throwing out a chain of grenth's balance at the begining (this will be a better spike than any other team could acheive).

The two monks keep each other and the ele in energy with blood rit (even if they don't have anything in blood, it's still on for 8 seconds, and that's a good amount of energy recover).

The ele does air spikes when possible. Ranger/Mes for interupts and skill disabling.

And finally the two warriors take the pain.

The warriors can heal themselves in a very sexy way with Grenth's once they start being hit with those fireball things (going from 100 health to 400+ in one skill is NICE).

all you need is a prot monk to buff 1 guy who picks up egg-- protective bond, life bond, essence bond, and maybe balthazars spirit.. everyone else just wail on the dragon

We had a group last night manage it.
mo/e, mo/me, r/n, n/r, 2 fighters (cant remember secondaries), e/me and me/mo

Everyone except the monks were prepped with interrupts and everyone had rez. We'd got halfway through the mission when one of the monks DC'd after they'd died rather than wait to be rezzed(wonderful). I was the other monk.

Just about managing to keep the group alive til glint, I was somewhat skeptical, but the r/n claimed he'd done it with henchies.. so may as well try it.

Our tactic:

Spread out
One person is "dodger", they carry the egg, dodge attacks and distract glint.
Mes and rangers interrupt like crazy
Fighters and and eles do damage
Monk keeps dodger alive above all else, and spike heals any others who get hit.
If dodger goes down, someone else takes his place. Someone with res signet rezzes dodger, and he takes over.

Monk deals with hexes on themself with Purge Signet (critical skill) which doesnt cause the redicoulous exhaustion to be activated, and ones on the dodger with signet or remove as appropriate.

My loadout was

orison, breeze, word of healing, signet of devotion, rebirth, purge signet, remove hex, ward against mellee

It varies from my usual "must take condition removal" ethos, but was the only way to ensure we remained hex-free at the end if the interrupts failed

the other monk was supposed to be protection

Was about to take screenshot when someone went through the portal instead :S

But next time read the description by moving your mouse over it....you will then find an interessting note on Glint versus Elemental Damage......

Glint is best hacked to pieces if you know what I mean,,,,,,and a Mesmer surely doesnt hurt.

here is what we learned:
1, a mesmer does wonders with attacks like power spikes and leach
2,it is very easy 2 make a ranger who is for inturupting
3,we should use warriors to distract and kill glint
4,we should use healing/protection monks
pls no flame thats just how im innturpreting it

Arcane Echo

right there is a solid 300 damage and some blindness to top it off...
use Leech Signet to interupt
Slap on a stance once the blindness wears off
Rinse and repeat
I suggest trying it with a Me/R and usin distractin shot and some stances (serpents quickness?) to help augment your Mesmer skills
throw in some inspiration skills and your set!
(BTW - I don't know but Hex breaker may break some of her skills that she casts on you - I may be wrong though)

you guys are thinking too hard.

get a ranger with distracting shot and maybe choking gas,
doesnt matter about everyone else, you dont even need a monk for glint.
one person grabs the egg and strafes side to side, its very easy if you time it right and you wont get hurt at all. The others just keep attacking glint, use distracting shot when glint tries to go into cystal hybernation. thats it! almost did it with henchies but henchies dont have interupts. I was in there and dodging for at least 20 minutes hoping that the henchies would pull it together and start killing glint but it ended in a stalemate and i left.

just make sure you keep your distance, glint has something like sharpened skin or something, hurts you if you touch her.

I like Meteor Shower for taking down bosses.

Tends to compliment having them on fire, while spamming Flare etc.

I'm a Mo/E with Fire skills, Divine Favor, and Healing spells. I tend to be good enough at healing my party members and at dealing damage that I can get off a good long-cast spell before having to get back to healing.

I doubt I could do that with Glint, though, without another Monk doing healing.

Just me, I would have two healer monks of some description, a protector monk, at least one nuker, a mesmer, and tanks.

The Mesmer would be devoted to interrupts, a tank would grab the egg, and they would both try to keep Glint off of the casters.

The healer monk and the protection monk would do a nice job (With Heal Other, that spell's great for bringing a guy right back from the brink) of keeping the guy that's being attacked from dying right away.

Yah, and the nuker(s) would be doing the damage, maybe make one into an Air ele so that he can help the Mez with interrupts.

See, now, I've totally phased out the Ranger. Shouldn't of done that... now I'll get flamed by the Rangers.

Please do not let this stop you from making similiar threads in future. Just remember everybody's a critic including those who haven't yet had the experience of fighting Glint.

But I am sure there are players who appreciate reading your suggestion on how to fight Glint. Few months ago when I went up against Glint for the first time I searched this forum for ideas on how to do it and thanks to someone who took time to post his stragety which I tried and modified I was able to kill the dragon.

Like someone said, there are more than one way to skin a dragon.

As for your guide - it never occured to me using so many elementalists. Have you actually tried this stragety? Based on some comments you made regarding monk builds, it sounded like you haven't tried this guide. Just curious.

And I agree with you - a ranger on his toes ready to interput is crucial. One group I took with me to kill Glint were doing so great, nobody were dying or anything. The problem is that after 30 minutes we gave up because it was a fight of standstill. What happened is the ranger lied about bringing a interputting skill so we couldn't stop hibernation from taking place. Nobody were too pleased with that ranger, let me tell you.
