I remember running into this bug a long time ago, and now my ranger just ran into it again today.

After defeating the boss just before the drawbridge to the courtyard with the enemy ghost, and the 3 siege worms guarding the 3 boss camps, I get taken to a cutscene, after the cutscene, I kill the 2x2 bow guards guarding the drawbridge, wich should lower the bridge after they die, but the bridge will not come down, and whats more, my friendly ghost is already INSIDE the moat, out on the far right side, and I can see no way of getting him back into my vicinity, he just stands there, how he got there is a completely mystery, but it seems to destroy any possibility to lower the drawbridge and get on with the mission, I have tried circling the moat in both directions, no go, I have tried waiting patiently for ages at the drawbridge, no go, so Im forced to start all over again from scratch.

Well, you don't necessarily have to kill the bows first -- they will just run down after the bridge lowers. The ghost works a ritual to lower the bridge, but you often have to lead him up to it. I have seen where the ghost just refuses to lower the bridge. Just a random error, I guess.
