Default Is this a new nerf for UW?

Yeah I'm sorry, I would have done a search on this but it seems the server isn't letting me do any searches so here I go:

I just went into UW with my 55 Monk, clearing all the aatxes out before the quest. After getting the quest and killing all the grasping darknesses, I go towards the area with the Terrorwebs. To my suprise there are a bunch of Dying Nightmares entangled with the patrolling mobs. I couldn't believe my eyes so I tooks a screen shot of it to show you. I ended up getting past 2 mobs with dying nightmares in them before interupts did me in while trying to get my enchants back on. I didn't have Spell Breaker with me since I didn't expect this type of spawn.

So, is this a new nerf from good ol' Arena Net??

At least I got an ecto while getting to the terrorwebs.

P.S. Sorry about the size of the pic if you're on dialup.

Yes! Screw the 55 monks, and maybe boast drops for legitimate full parties

*Sigh*

That's not even funny. But it's true. I wouldn't feel the need to go solo anywhere if I felt like I could actually make more than 500g in over an hour...

That'll teach you to solo! Get a necro partner and bring SB

It's not a nerf, there have been nightmares with those groups since nightmares began. There's between 0 and 4 nightmares in that room, every time. each group of graspings can possibly have a nightmare with them (except the ones that spawn in the first room.)

Thumbs up

Honestly, if I saw that in a room I had to enter, I would s**t myself. To tell you the truth, I wouldn't even enter the room .

Thx for the build help too bud, your skills are showing... May try it out sometime .

As for the whole "nerf or not" thing, I have no doubt it is. I've never been in that room, but I know that when you are trying to solo, Dying Nightmares are exactly what they are: Nightmares that die after they rend (hence the name lol... they die after they rend, and they are a nightmare to 55hp monks). Believe it or not, I was smart enough to figure that one out myself.

LOL,

Thanks for the replies guys, I guess I just jumped the gun on this one. For some reason all the times I've went into UW with my monk I've failed to see those nightmares in the mobs. When I finally saw them last night, I just lost it knowing it would make my job 10x harder. I guess I still like to try and solo UW just for the fact that its so challenging to do (for me at least).

I'd still like to contribute to the damage dealing if I'm in a duo group, so SB's out the window for me. I suppose I'll have to build up my "nightmare relfexes" and wand them to death old school.

OMG OMG OMG.... *Superglue's Noob Hat on for good*

Every PUG i play in that goes into UW always goes towards the terrorwebs first... I never bothered to think that you didn't have to get past those things in order to get to the smites. I guess it shows how much I know about UW eh?

Anyways, I guess I need to know where the entrance towards the smites is. Is it to the north-east somewhere?

EDIT: for those who saw my screenshot: I found out that it was just a hole in the wall showing up as a lighted pathway-looking thing on the minimap. Sorry.

the nightmares r not that bad. they only take 2 hits with a wand 90% of the time to die plenty of time to kill them. alittle advice attack as they walk away. and SB is a joke. chessy way to do it. SoJ is always better.

Yeah I dusted off my customized smiting wand from the droks collector again, and I admit I have enough time to kill them (2 hits like you said). Last night while america had favor for a while I ran into two sets of two nightmares in a single spawn of UW. Ouch. I wanded one to death, but the other one got me. Running is a good thing.

I've been spending some time still doing searches on where the path to the smiting area is and the best I could do is:

"After you clear the chamber, you head off into the smites. You know where they are right? Right? Good."

Yeah not very helpful when the one time that I made it there in a PuG, I wasn't paying attention on how to get back there! If anyone can give a summary on how I might get there without going through the terrorwebs, that would be great.
