Default Farming dryders at Ember light camp.

Since we have had the pleasure of being relieved from mundane farming of griffons I have taken the liberty to post this "guide" on how to successfully farm darkflame dryders (Sorry if this has been posted before or if it is common knowledge and I'm making myself a public laughing stock here)

Anyways, your gear: zealous xxx of defense (to juice up frenzy and for some added armor), bow and the collector stance 45/2 shield. A damage +15% while in stance weapon is recommended (a +15% while health is above 50% is NOT recommended) but we'll get back to it in a minute.
I'm using gladiator armor but other types will probably do also.

Why to farm dryders then? No idea, the drops are generally poor and most of the loot you will probably get is made up from dryder fangs. But since the area is easily accessible and there's a chance of a fellblade dropping it might be worth a try or two. And like it is said: it was farmed because it was there.

Skill setup W/Me:
Strength 11
Weapon attribute (axe or sword) 13
Tactics 12
Inspiration 2

Penetrating blow
Cleave (substitute these first 2 to suit your preferences)
Sprint
Dolyak's signet
Watch yourself!
Healing signet
Elemental resistance
Frenzy

The gung ho: First enter the instance. Lure some hydras with your bow if you want but generally not worth it (except the claws which can be exchanged for some nice scrolls). If you want put on dolyak's and resistance and finally watch yourself. Do not use frenzy or sprint (because you will die).

If you did not bother with the hydras wait till the left side path is clear and follow it up. On the top there's probably a spawn of flesh golems. You should try to sprint past then to the collector downhill. Wait till faintheartedness has worn off and aggro the first two spawns of dryders.

And here comes the trick: let them use shadow strike on you until your health is below 50%, do NOT heal. Magically they stop using it. Flip out and kill them all. Even with frenzy constantly on you'll be taking absolutely zero damage. Clear the cave and scan the nearby areas for lone mobs and hunt them down. There might be some drakes on the way but I advise you not to take on more than 3 or 4 at a time. Golems and phantoms on the other hand are to be avoided AT ANY COST.

There you have it. Rinse&repeat. (comments, suggestions, improvements etc. are appreciated as always)

You could go butt naked fighting the dryders here. You should try to bring Eviscerate or if you go sword bring severy artery and gash put some cinditions on these guys so they go down faster these guys, but if you want to farm the whole place(phantoms included) go W/N.

Out of spite I'll let this thread live for a while still (shame on me)

As pointed out above Eviscerate+Executioner works great. Altho axe mastery at 16 has somewhat (greatly) hindered my ability deal with hydras and drakes. But as I stated they're aren't a high priority so no biggie. I will not edit the original text because too many things would have to be changed (and due to lame reception :P). Just use 16 axe, 10 tactics and 10 strength and you're good to go. Also this time minimize your contacts with the OTHER local fauna.

Moreso I forgot to mention that dryder fangs can be salvaged into glittering dust (averages 7 dust a piece) and I usually get about 50 piles a run so it's a good place to go if you're collecting for your 15k armor.

To Lambda: I have "farmed" this area (even the phantoms) with a ripostes build using W/Me but I would be interested in the W/N setup and particularly on dealing with the high damage hydras. Care to share some of your secrets?

Finally more feedback would be appreciated still. Ie. "rofl piss off u nub" or similar just to know if I'm being terribly obvious here.

I love that, & i may just do that later on for a test, but basically
your spot on, dryders are pretty weak creatures but the money from
there soon adds up plus the key /chest drops can be surprising, ...

And also, just to confirm! i used these exact builds for it too!

Both work like a charm, and very tweakable if you fancy a change!

Just to toss out some thought here...

What's the difference between...

A gold, max damage, max mod, +15% while in a stance weapon

..and..

A white, max damage, max mod, +20% customized weapon?

Farming is done alone. Do you REALLY need to look good doing it?

Now, if we're talking a customized +15% in a stance.. well.. ya got me there

The fact that you obviously customize the first one also to get +35% ?

not a bad build. good job.

for those interested in perdition rock farming as a warrior, here is also a slightly older thread about it:
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=89402

it contains more information and a comprehensive build that will allow you to take on the golems as well.

Not as obvious as you think. The consensus in the game is to NOT customize these perfect weapons.

By who? The squatters in LA who do nothing but rippoff newbs, errrr I mean buy low and sell high? Not customizing a weapon is retarded if you have any intention to actually use it.

What's the point of collecting if not to use them?

Yes, I use all of these in the appropriate situations. Every one is in my carry on luggage at all time.
