Default Have a small question about 2 upgrades

Hi, I see some people saying the 5 Armor upgrade for Sword is more useful then the 30HP, I know that more armor the better, but i'm kinda confused, do 5armor will do much better effect then 30HP???

I searched for this in this forum but didn't found no related topic, so decided ask here.

Well, hope some one able to clear me out

Thanks

This has been debated for awhile, and the answer is:
HP is better for armor ignoring stuff (obviously)(and degen) like energy burn and such.
Armor is better for everything else.

i personally prefer fortitude, i think that +5 AL is too small a trade off for the +30 hp.

A warriors strength is armor, why not make it even better?

I would have to say armour.. and i do always prefer 2 -dmg mods on sheilds too. IMO if you can stop the dmg coming in.. theres no need to extra health. A sup or major vigor only on my armour does the trick for me.

The numbers on damage alone work for the defense, not fortitude.

Ok - assuming 450 damage taken to kill a character

At 60 armour with a +30 mod someone needs to hit you for 480 damage to kill you.

At 60 armour with a +5 armour mod someone needs to hit you for 491 damage to kill you.

At 70 armour with a +30 mod someone needs to hit you for 571 damage to kill you.

At 70 armour with a +5 armour mod someone needs to hit you for 584 damage to kill you.

At 80 armour with a +30 mod someone needs to hit you for 680 damage to kill you.

At 80 armour with a +5 armour mod someone needs to hit you for 695 damage to kill you.

At 100 armour with a +30 mod someone needs to hit you for 960 damage to kill you.

At 100 armour with a +5 armour mod someone needs to hit you for 982 damage to kill you.

In all test cases the defense mod works better than the fortitude. However, take into account that fortitude deals better with degen and some damage which is armour ignoring. The question is do you think it's common enough to go with fortitude over armour? My personal choice is defense.

Armor 90% of the time. Health Degen skills like Bleed/Poison/Disease may make +HP mods seem attractive, but with enough armor, most attacks end up doing little to no damage, meaning all you have to worry about is bleed and such.

For PvE I usually go with +armor since there are always melee type enemies. For PvP I usually go with +health since there are a lot of degen and armor ignoring stuff.

I agree with Shaz. In PvP if your targeted over a caster by another warrior or ranger, you know you will win. THe +30 health mod is better for PvP warriors due to their lack of priority over other members.

+5 armor in PvE definately since you will be tanking most of the time.
