If you think Planescape:Torment or even Pen and Paper is the epitome of rpgs, think again. Live Role Playing Games are the epitome of rpgs. No statistics! Dress in silly costumes! Frolic through the woods!

hey marky, what persistant worlds did you design for NwN?
(asking cause i would go look at them in nwvalt or online, longtime player of rr:nordock ^^)
My PWs aren't really up anymore, I haven't played the game in years. I only gave a few suggestions to Three Town, one of the more popular PWs

But to give a general idea on how I worked DnD economy, I created the following gold sinks in my PW, Sacrifice PW:

- High crafting costs
- Paying a tax to get inside a MAJOR city, based on your level
- Trainers that cost a lot of cash. You needed a trainer in order to level.
- Food and water rations, yet another gold sink (you just need them, the game ate automatically)
- Teleportation costs, high
- Higher prices for magical items. Mundane remained the same

Even though it wasn't big and lasted around six months, a lot of people really liked the economy of my PW.

Each time you killed a creature, you get a gold based on the amount of xp right away. Item drops were static (A limitation in NWN at the time, unless you wanted a reallybad random item drop).

by having upgradeable guild halls will encourage farming to get enough money to upgrade it
Depends on the cost. Many guilds already 'farm' sigils, and there is four character slots.

It's just a small suggestion to seperate guilds from each other besides a guild hall.

And that is why you should be happy with the new updates... I never opposed OR posted in a likeable tone of the new update, I simply stated the facts.

Suggestion to Anet - If anyone from Anet is reading this, I know a good way to suggest Gold sinks for Guild halls. Upgradable guild lords, archers, and defences. You can level your footman from level 20 to 21 for <insert cost here>. You can replace an archer with a fire or air. This way, it would allow a guild to totally customize their guild hall to their specific strategies and an excellent way for gold to be spent. It would also require GvG builds to be very diverse, instead of the cookie-cutter FOTW.
Please no. I want GvG as fair as possible, I don't want people who spend more time farming to have such an advantage.

There is a skill trainer with all the skills now in the fire chains. NO WORK IS INVOLVED IN GETTING SKILLS
Besides the argument you gave, they still cost skill points. The only "work" that was removed was the process of running to some remote outposts. Whoop dee do. They saved us an hour per character, maybe!

- Random 16vs16 Relic runs
You realize that Monks would be almost useless in such a setting, right?

Quote:
- A mission that requires you to defend the fort as long as possible. The longer you last, the higher the rewards from mobs and the level.
With Randomization, this would be awesome. Maybe even a leaderboard.

Ether Renewal needs a nerf. Avenge does not. Don't kill the pets, kill the necros over and over, use Aegis/Guardian/Sympathetic Visage/Soothing Images/Ward Against Melee, and life is good. Also note that when their Necros go down, they no longer have healing. Why aren't you bringing anti-Warrior stuff to Tombs anyway?

I agree with everything else you brought up, I think.

True... but isn't that how a true market economy works? Why are HUGE SUV's selling so well at 40-60k per vehicle? Because of the gas mileage? NOOO because of the EGO'S. Same with Televisions and Computers for that matter. If there is a DEMAND for perfect items then the prices will be higher. Look at Runes. Before the Rune Traders, Runes sold for 10 times what they sell for now. When they added the Rune Traders and flooded the market, the prices dropped. Supply < Demand = High Prices

No it doesn't. You're seeing the results of one class's spell affecting the ability of another. This is not a monk spell. Don't nerf the skill. nerf what it reacts with.

on topic: I agree with the OP

Hi, MarkyX,

We are reading, you can be sure of it. Thanks your comments and excellent suggestions, too! The idea of guild hall customization and other meaningful "gold sinks" is quite valid, in my opinion. I have a long list of personal "hope for's" and I know many others do as well. As for the Tombs comment, we'll consider changes but will look critically at the Big Picture to assure that any adjustments are truly necessary and well-assessed.

Thanks again for the feedback. And the support.

Wrong again. The green items, while badass, cannot be modded or customized.
Green items can be customized. I got the one I wanted and customized it today. They might also be moddable as I tried to apply a different component and it gave me the warning do I want to replace the component... I didn't try it though because I like it the way it is.

What a self-centered thought. I'd suppose you'd have it everything is farmable in one secret location and a small cartel of morons knows about it and charges 200k for things so they can feel big? Gimmie a break, it's a game, and people deserve to get something out of it, not a small group of folk that did something again and again the devs warned you was not going to last.

It's all peripheral, and GW wasn't meant to be that type of RPG that allows people to get off by repeating actions. But, of course, the people who think that it was supposed to be that kind of game are pissed off now.

Being disillusioned is a ****, eh?

This is why threads die, not because of hate back and forth, but from hate back and forth that is incomprehensible to read from any grammatically sound standpoint.

The OP is flawless, and so is the game.

Heh heh, I must say that this post is 100% correct. If you dont think so, then you are a member of the "disillusioned".

EDIT: SOT, good to see you still posting here. Its been a while.

Double EDIT: These two thread shouldnt have been merged IMO, it makes no sence now

Anyway, I think the grand design here is that GW was meant to become what the devs deem a less time-leeching game (Skill dictates status, etc.). A lot of posters are pissed off at the people that are saying things like, "go play WoW if you want that kind of grinding", thinking those people are simply shoving away the problem. They aren't, really; they bring up a valid point. Guild wars was never intended to be the obsessive/compulsive man's dream, its not-so-underlying message is that all gamers, casual and dangerously-involved, should be given a chance at being good at an RPG.

Of course, you still need to spend a LOT of time to get your character cranked up to that "elite" tag, but not as much as you would in, say, Diablo 2.

Oh, and, I like commas.

Holy shit, in case you haven't noticed. First, came Ether Renewal. People bitched about it. Then came IWAY builds, which I said many times that it would be the next FOTM, which was basically Anti-Smite. People bitched about it. Ether Renewal. Might. Not, Get, Nerfed, Otherwise, Wouldn't, Anet, Have, Nerfed, It, In, The, Sorrow's, Furnace, Update,?

Ether Renewal/Smiting is now being countered. Well of Profane, shutdown Mesmers, God knows what. IWAY was also a counter, that became popular. Now IWAY builds are being countered, Spiteful Spirit, don't kill pets etc.

This isn't going to make people stop bitching, but for God's sake, stop bitching people.

Rare still applies in the grand scheme of things.
