Default Has Thirsty River changed?

Last summer I did it with my first character, and a guildmate and I went through it with no problem. Now I'm trying it with my second character (slowpoke, me), and the same guildmate and I can NOT get her done. The hench seem to be the main problem...they run all over the place, aggroing everything. And it may be my imagination, but that priest seems to be rezzing the teams BEFORE the timer runs out.

Are we doing something wrong? My guildie is using his warrior/monk, I've got my ranger/monk who hasn't had any real issues before now. I know there have been several hundred updates (feels like that, anyhoo) since last summer, so I may be missing some vital info. Our guild leader states that the hench are simply useless for this. Is he right?

Any advice is appreciated, and thanks in advance.

The opposite for me, the first time hard, every other time easy..

Its really not hard..just..kill priests and control henchs :-D

I dont think they have changed it, although im sure they have changed AI 1000 times >.>

I don't recall it being changed either, seems like the same critters. AI has changed re: AoE attacks so that alone makes it harder. It is hard with henchies but I managed with my Wa/Mo and Ne/Mo by running Succor on both of the healers and using adrenaline, signets and soul reaping to power my toons.

Sometimes the mission goes well and other times it seems to bomb. I wonder if it is as simple as the henchie healers getting targeted first by the enemies and thus leading to a wipe. Once they get DP they tend to be targeted more so it continues to go down hill.

Each time I've run it recently with a team of guildies we blow through it though. I can't say the same with henchies or PUGs.

Did it earlier with henchies just to check. I agree, I don't think it's been changed. Just don't bring Orion, or he'll try to cook up some BBQ.

Choking Gas, Savage Shot, Distacting Shot = win. Just make sure they don't get "stuck" on a monster when you really want them to target the boss that is further back.

Well if anything it seems like its easier. It took me like 15+ tries to get it done the first time. The my guildie does it with him, a friend, and rest henchies first try. SO i did it again, and had no problem.

What's changed since you last did it is probably just the AoE. Monsters run from it, Henches don't.

I did the Mission and Bonus way back when with my MM and 5 henchmen. It's tougher to pull off now, being that the healing hench just stand in the Chaos Storms and die, but it can be done just the same. Just make sure you bring an interrupt or two for the damned priests & Monk boss, as the henches haven't learned how to interrupt yet.

I've run through this mission with my W/Me, W/Mo and Mo/Me and beat it each time with relative ease. Perhaps I'm just lucky to have gotten in good groups, but like the other guy said...just basically make sure your team doesn't aggro in more than it can handle and kill priests before they can rez and you got the win.

i love this mission, i did it with 2 melee hench and 1 ss 1 mm My self(lvl monk/necro) and another monk lv 20

It used to be harder, iirc they changed it the same time they made THK 'easier'
